"I guess since you are asleep and I know that you need your sleep to keep up with everything. I just wanted to tell you that you can go home now. I finally convinced that clown of a doctor to let you go home." She whispered to me as she touched my hand.

"So I guess when you wake up... you will wake up in your bedroom. Oh what am i saying... I'm saying it as if you can see still. I am such an insensitive bitch right now and for that I am sorry."

I could hear her take a rough breath as she continued to what she was saying.

"I will promise you this... I will try to make you the most happiest little girl ever. It will be my only task until you take your last breath. I will bring back the happy girl that Issac worked so hard to find out of you.. I make this my promise." She said.

What if you can't find that girl anymore? I wondered as I felt my heart clench tightly at the sound of my friend trying so hard not to cry.

Promise

(Day 30)

It has been about a month since I was allowed to leave the hospital. I was relieved but at the same time I was worried. Relieved that I was not in a room that always had the smell of disinfectant and the sounds of crying parents or machines. Worried that I would never get my vision back.

All I did ever since my release was sit in a chair and just stare straight ahead. I must be staring at something since all I could see was black.

Sometimes Loanne would come and help me get ready and tell me things... but I would not respond. I would love to respond back to my friend and laugh, scold her of the things that she had done. But I just didn't have the will to do it, I was like a doll.

A doll that has no soul.

I was that dead, that I knew Loanne was getting bothered by it. Oh how much I had wished for her to slap me and cuss at me for acting this way, all she did was turn her head and continued acting like she was not annoyed and angry with me. I guess that showed she was a true friend.

I heard my bedroom door open and I slightly moved my head to the side of where the door was located at. Footsteps were light and I knew right then and there, that it was Loanne.

I was proved right when that person kneeled in front of me, and gave me a wiff of their fragrance. Loanne always wore that same perfume. Vanilla with a light hint of caramel.

I felt her hand go over mine and she lightly grasped it. "Hey Promise." She said softly as if she was talking to a baby.

"How are you?" There was a deep silence between us as none of us said anything before Loanne breathed heavily and resumed her talking.

"You must be wondering whether it is day time or night time. Well it is night time, so that means you have been sitting here all day." Loanne said as she chuckled softly.
