(A few years in the future)
-Hailey's POV-
(A/N: I write from blueberry's pov way too much 😌)
..
I hate mornings, I really do. I've always been more of a night owl.. but now that I'm older my day consists of coffee and trying not to fall asleep in the office.
The office, I know shocking. You'd think a girl like me who is "soo creative" would have some sort of job that would make sense for her. Like a songwriter, or an author. But no, I ended up working in a huge office building in a heavily busy city as a transponster. (A/N: If ykyk)
The only people that keep me sane these days are my best friends I rarely see, and my boyfriend, Jake Sterling.
I often find myself thinking about him around the office. Such as now, in a very awkward full elevator of me and a bunch of other people I don't even know.
If he was here too, we would make fun how blank their faces were, or how they all dressed exactly the same. Thats one thing I hate about the office life, theres barely any differences in our outfits.
The elevator finally got to my floor after what felt like 2,000 years. I got to my cubicle and got to work.
I was startled out of my focus by my phone going off. Jake was texting me.
Hey princess, sorry for bothering you at work... but I wanted to know if you wanted to go out for dinner tonight.
I smiled, Jake had the day off today, and I couldn't get off. I guess he wants to take me out to treat me after a hard day.
I'll see how tired I am when I get home, but if I'm not tired I would love that.
Good job taking care of yourself beautiful ❤️
"Ms. Austin!" I was startled out of my conversation with Jake.
"Oh, my apologies Sir, I got a text message." I informed my nosey boss.
"Well, you're on the job now. Wait until your break to start talking to your boyfriend." My boss was unamused
"Sorry sir, I'll get back to work."
He walked away and I groaned. Bloody hell, why does everyone come at the worst times.
I quickly wrote a reply to Jake and put my phone down.
The people in this building I do know always seem to show up at the worst times, and always seem to have some sort of input on my life. Its annoying as hell, that's why i've avoided having "work friends." Too much commitment for a place I don't even want to be at.
Before I knew it I was distracted again, but this time it was by lyrics that caught into my brain I needed to jot down somewhere. I grabbed a peach sticky note off of its stack and quickly wrote it down:
"Don't you worry your pretty little mind, people throw rocks at things that shine"
Now that, I could turn into something bigger later on..
I stuck the note to the clean side of my monitor, the other side was just notes with useless notes, and little sketches. But this, I felt wasn't gonna be just another one of my useless lines that wouldn't go anywhere.
