part 8 - Nathan's collapse

I was sat next to Keith watching the game, Nathan seemed tense and angry. He was playing well until Lucas threw the ball to him and he froze. After a few seconds, he collapsed. I was rlly worried and concerned as I stood up and looked at him and everyone surrounding him. He was taken to the hospital and I ran down to the cafe as my car was sold by my dad and I needed to tell to tell Deb so she could go be with him in the hospital.

"Hey I was going to go check on him,but then I remembered your here and you should go. How is he doing?" I said talking to Deb in the cafe. "Who?" She said,having no idea what I'm talking about. "Nathan." Clearly, Dan hadn't called her. I don't know why I though he would have. "What about him?" She said looking really concerned. I told her everything and she ran out of the cafe as I took over since Haley was at home sick.

I was trying to call Nathan but it kept going to voicemail so I left one for him as I was rlly anxious and concerned. "Hey, it's me. Uh, I guess I'm just really worried about you. I really hate the way we ended things". "So do I" I knew it was Nathan but I thought he was in hospital and he sounded rlly weak. "Nobody answered the door." that was because Brooke was out, probably at Peyton's and my mum was on a business trip.

"My mum is away and Brooke is out. How are you?" I threw my phone on my bed and looked at him concerned. "Not so good. Can I..." He sounded rlly weak, like unhealthily weak. He walked over and hugged me. "I've made a lot of mistakes, Lola. Sometimes because of my dad. Sometimes by choice." He sat down on my bed and I walked over and sat next to him. "I just can't do it anymore." I knew I needed to comfort him as he seemed rlly tired of it. "It's ok Nathan".

"No. It's not ok. I'm not ok." He looked down to my floor. "I was terrified of tonight. Then I saw you. I promised myself that if I could just get up and walk over to you and tell you how much I need you and how much I want you and that nothing else matters."  I smiled at him and kissed him. I was going downstairs for something. "Lola, can I stay with you for tonight?" I shut my door as no one was home anyway.

I was laid on his chest. "So if my mum randomly comes home, I'm going to act like I have amnesia. So don't freak out if I pretend I don't know you." I said making us both chuckle. He sighed. "Look, I think i should get back to the madness.But, hey, if I could I would stay like this all day.". I didn't want him to go but he had to. I kissed him goodbye. "Ok". "Nathan,about last night....". "Hey,look, it's not about sex with me, Ok?" He said reassuring me.

"Come here" I sat up in bed and wrapped my arms around his neck, kissing him. After classes, I was walking around outside with Lucas just talking. "It's that hard alright. Peyton and I don't make sense as a couple. She said so herself". "Then took it back. Look, I've seen it myself and Peyton looks to be really trying to make an effort to turn things around. It just sucks she got bit the first time she reached out to somebody, you know?" I said turning to look at him.

"Lola, I'm not the bad guy here, OK? Peyton just too.... hard." he's saying it like my sister is BETTER. "Unlike my sister who I understand is all sweet and very easy huh?" I said knowing she wasn't easy at all and wasn't sweet at times. "Excuse me. She makes me laugh. She's honest and she isn't afraid to be herself." He said correcting me but not being right. Plus, she's not covered head to toe in issues." I looked at him and scoffed. There is no way he just said that after everything she has gone through.  "What's so bad about that?". "Nothing. If ur happy then I guess your happy right?" I said looking over at everyone scattered around.

Deb called me at the cafe, needing my help again so I went down. I was in the back as deb was at the front counter. "Business seems to have dropped lately, I'm starting to take it personally"Deb said a bit loud so I could hear in the back. "No, don't, it's the university, they're on a break. It will pick up soon." I was walking towards the door after helping out. I turned back around as I remember something Karen used to think we should do.

"You know, Karen always thought that we should do live entertainment to bring more people in like an open mic night here in the cafe." I said putting my jacket on. "Thats a great idea. Yeah absolutely we should. But let me run it by Lucas first, to make sure he's ok with the idea." Deb said as she put her hand out to get the phone. "Or I could speak to him about it. He won't answer his phone bcz he's playing basketball right now."I said fixing my hair as it was tucked under my jacket.

"Yeah I know he is but I haven't seen him in a while. I will talk to him in person about it." I nodded. "Ok well if u have this place controlled, then I have a study session with Nathan to be at." I grabbed my phone from out of my pocket. "I'm really glad your seeing Nathan. He's lucky to have someone like you Lola" I smiled and thanked her, walking out and down the road.
