All that bullshit's for the birds
You ain't nothing but a vulture
Always hoping for the worst
Waiting for me to fuck up
You'll regret the day when I find another girl, yeah
That knows just what I need, she knows just what I mean
When I tell her, "Keep it drama free"

Marquis sat at the dining room table across from Jade in what was once their family home. It'd been two weeks since their violent altercation that landed them both in the Fulton County Jail. Since then, Marquis had been keeping the girls from Jade and after long consideration, he'd decided that it was time to sit down and discuss divorce and custody plans. Their dysfunctional marriage had become irreconcilable.

"So where are the girls?" Jade asked. Their daughters were her only concern in the moment. Two weeks without hearing their voices or seeing their faces had her stressed beyond measure. Despite how things might've looked, Jade loved her girls more than anything in the world.

"Upstairs. I'll let you see them after we discuss what we need to discuss," Marquis replied.

Jade shook her head, "so first you put your hands on me, and now you're treating me like I'm some dead beat mother? Are you serious Marquis?"

"I apologize for putting my hands on you. I was wrong for that one, but I won't apologize for putting my girls' safety first. You had Kennedy around a whole rapist just to spite me. What GOOD mother would do that?"

"Oh God," Jade rolled her eyes, "he was falsely accused Marquis. He didn't rape anybody. Rell was my friend before anything else, and I know that he would never rape anybody. Kennedy was completely safe. Let's not pretend like that's the reason why you're doing all of this. Be a real nigga and admit that you're jealous because I'm allowing Rell to be in his daughter's life."
