hey guys!!!!

I know I just did an eddie oneshot BUT HEAR ME OUT I wanted to temper the trauma I've inflicted on eddie in this oneshot collection

y/n in this oneshot can not swim and has aquaphobia (I'm almost sure that's what it's called please correct me if it's wrong), meaning they hate going near streams, lakes, rivers, or pools and usually tries to avoid them.

and guys I know we're almost always the damsel in distress but don't worry we're going to be queerbossing here in a couple oneshots

also this is an add-on to the neighborhood almost drowning

TW: panic, descriptive drowning, throw-up

alright let's hop into it my oinkity sploinkity little meow meows

~y/n pov~

I walked along the far edge of the rushing river, swallowing my apprehension. I never liked to go near such rivers, especially at the very heart of spring when the water could sweep you away in seconds, silencing your screams and pulling you under until you washed up onto the shore days later to become nothing but worm food.

The more I thought about it the more my stomach began to sink. I breathed in a curt sigh and turned, adjusting the canvas bag on my shoulder. Rain had poured for a solid week not long ago, the neighborhood's brief panic had ended, and bountiful plantlife had grown in its place. Ferns, flowers, and grass bloomed like there was no tomorrow. Seeings as Howdy's shop was still temporarily closed for repairs brought on by the water damage, I thought it be necessary to dig up the vegetables that had grown.

I had dressed accordingly for the slightly-warm weather. Gray clouds still hung in the sky, though sunlight began to filter through what openings they could. I wore a large t-shirt tucked into a ankle-length skirt- patched with all different fabrics and designs that Sally had gifted to me. I also wore a pair of boots to make sure my feet didn't catch any possible thorns.

My basket was already starting to quickly fill with, mushrooms, spring onions, berries and dandelion. I smiled knowing that I could make a half-decent meal from what I had.

I looked to my side towards the river and saw a leafy patch of what looked to be arugula the river's shore. I sucked in a breath and looked around, trying to hype myself up to go get it. I swung my arms back and forth, taking a deep breath...

I stepped cautiously towards the river, bending down to pick the leaves and peering at the river with narrow eyes. I smirked. Yeah, that's right pussy. You're not taking me today...

Suddenly I felt my skirt (or pants or shorts whatever) get snagged on something behind me, I looked back a saw a small briar sticking from the ground had hooked to the fabric. I turned slightly in my heel, still sitting, and pulled to get it undone.

The thorn wouldn't budge, and I took a deep breath to try to keep a level head. I gripped the fabric tightly and with one forceful tug, I was free. Of course, then I felt my body tip backwards.

I rolled down the river's shore, hitting my head on the rocks as I went. My body landed ungracefully in the shallow part of the river. I immediately tried standing, but felt the water menuver under me and swept me off my knees and, sending me careening down the river. With one last panicked breath, the water pulled me under.
