Naveen's POV:
The end of my junior year is approaching. This past year has definitely been one for the books. I got my first big acting role in Mighty Ducks and made some long lasting friends in the process. School has definitely been challenging, with having to go to and from Los Angeles constantly.
People have also been treating me different. While I feel like myself while among fellow actors, at school, things have changed. I get side glance in the halls. I hear my name being whispered. I am pointed at. More people who I barely talked to are pretending like we are best friends.
My girlfriend, Page, has also become so clingy. She wasn't like this before. We have gone to almost every school dance together, and have known each other since kindergarten. But now she holds on to me like a prize that no one else has. I wish things didn't have to change so much. I have to break it off soon.
---
On Friday, I was sitting in the common area with my best friend Sonny. I needed to run my thoughts by him.
"Hey, man, can I run something by you"
"Yea bro. What's up?"
"I was just thinking, that I need to get rid of some things in my life."
"What do you mean, like what?"
"I don't want to hurt anyone or anything, but I think I need to break up with Page," I say hoping that he understands.
Sully looks at me, sighs, and runs his hand through his hair, after taking this in.
After what seems like forever he finally respond,"Look man, you do you. This year has exploded for you, and whatever makes you feel grounded is what's best."
"Thanks man. So you support?"
"I mean I would never want Page to be hurt, but I think if you guys aren't working anymore its's best to call it off."
"Okay great man. I also hate to hurt Page, but I feel like it's what's best for me."
"Anyways, man, this weekend's gonna be crazy. Max is planning a blowout party at his house and we have to supply the goods."
"Awesome, let's go then," I say, my mind thinking about something totally different.
