Akanksha’s POV
“******* Akanksha!*” Ugh. That voice. I could recognize it even if I was sleeping.
It was Aman. My bua ka ladka. 😒
I mentally facepalmed.
“Ugg why TF he is here?” I muttered under my breath, but of course, he didn’t miss a beat.
“Hi darling,” Aman grinned, walking over like he owned the entire ballroom.
I rolled my eyes so hard it could’ve been a workout. “Uhh how many times do I tell you, Aman… stop trying already. I’m not interested.”
(Ye sun ke Shubman ke jaan mein jaan aayi 😌)
Aman wasn’t one to give up easily. “Oh c’mon, stop denying!”
Sam, my ever-so-protective girl, stepped forward like a queen. “She isn't denying. If a girl says no, then it's no. Why can't you understand?”
Tapasya joined in, exasperated. “I told you, man. Tell bhai already.”
I sighed. “I don’t want to hurt bua, yrr. She considers me as her daughter. It’s obvious Bhai will tell her.”
Aman, as usual, didn’t get the hint—or just chose to ignore it. “So... wanna hang out tomorrow?”
Before I could say anything, someone very unexpected jumped in.
“No, she's busy with me—” Shubman quickly corrected himself, “I mean... us. We’re planning to go somewhere tomorrow, isn't it guys?”
Ishan nodded with exaggerated enthusiasm. “Ha ha, bilkul!”
Aman frowned. “Ok ok, I'm going away. I was kidding anyways.”
As soon as he walked away, I let out a dramatic breath. “Hash, finally jaan chuti.”
Tapu laughed. “He's such a weird guy.”
Just when I thought the drama was over, I felt a hand casually land on my shoulder. 😐

Aryan Khan Son of srk 25 Friend of Akanksha
“Yo bro! India aayi aur bataya bhi nahi?”
I turned and smiled. “Yrr, I arrived today only.”
It was Aryan. Childhood friend turned fashion-nemesis turned friend again (it’s complicated, okay?).
He took his hand off my shoulder and slid it into his pocket, standing comfortably next to me. We started chatting, catching up on everything from LA streetwear to the Delhi food scene.
But little did I know... someone else was burning with pure jealousy.
And y’all already know who it is.
Shubman’s POV Why TF is he standing so close to her? Why is he touching her shoulder like it’s normal? WHY IS SHE SMILING LIKE THAT?!
I swear if looks could kill, Aryan would’ve evaporated into dust by now. My fists clenched at my side, the glass in my hand growing tighter and tighter.
And then
CRACK. The sound of glass shattering in my hand made everyone freeze.
Akanksha’s POV “OMG, Shubman! You're bleeding!” I rushed over, panic shooting through me like lightning. “Someone please get a first aid kit!”
Everyone around us stiffened in concern. Even the nearby ICT players turned toward the commotion.
A servant came running with a kit, and I instantly sat him down, inspecting the wound.
“Thank God the glass pieces didn’t go deep into your hand. You just got some scratches,” I said, gently wiping the blood and dabbing antiseptic on the cuts.
Ishan crouched next to us. “But how did that happen?”
Shubman looked a little dazed. “I—I don’t know. I just pressed it a little to get grip… and it broke.”
Virat bhai stepped in, worry etched on his face. “Tu theek na? Aur kahi toh nahi laga?”
I gave a soft nod. “No problem. I was just doing my job.”
The whole time I was treating him, I could feel his eyes on me. He was literally staring. Not blinking. Not moving. Just staring. And I swear to God... I blushed. Blushed. Me. The girl who keeps a steel heart.
Why am I blushing? I rarely blush. Okay Akanksha. Focus.
Ishan’s POV (because the boy can’t keep quiet)
I leaned toward Shubman and whispered, “Bhai, you did that in jealousy, right?”
He looked away. “I don’t know man… anyway, Virat bhai is calling.”
Yeah right. You don’t know.
Author's Cam
The girls Akanksha, Tapu, and Sam left to join their bhabhis, probably for gossip and saree compliments.
Meanwhile, somewhere in Shubman’s chest, his heartbeat was no longer stable. Aryan was still around. But Akanksha had treated his wound. And for a second, she looked at him like he mattered
