There was an annoyed growl from the creature at that, not pleased with the raspy voiced man's protest.

''He stayed in my domain for a bit, a lot longer than he read your book for, so by your logic, he belongs to me'' The raspy voiced man continued to reason, a slightly stressed note in his voice.

''That's bullshit.'' The creature protested, the sound of crunching bones making it to my ears, causing me to shiver slightly in fear.

The man holding me tightened his grip on me, quietly hushing me as he did so.

''I'm just using your own logic against you, if it's 'bullshit', then your original argument wasn't too good.'' The raspy voiced man argued, drawing another snarl from the creature that was hunting me.

''Yeah! get logic-ed! Way to go Sullivan!'' The man holding me cheered, his grip on me loosening slightly as he spoke.

Pushing back ever so slightly, I looked up at the unreasonably tall and muscled man who was holding me.

My eyes widened in shock as the golden eyed man looked down at me, a lop sided grin forming on his tanned face, the corners of his eyes crinkling with his smile.

''Hey cutie, much as I like holding you in my arms, I do believe this upcoming conversation might be a bit above you'' The man murmured, a seemingly charming smile on his face.

I was too far into shock at the moment to be charmed by the auburn haired man holding me.

''Sullivan, Sullivan! Got someone I need you to put to sleep for a bit'' The mystery man called out, getting a grumbled from the man dealing with the monster hunting me.

An exasperated sigh was his answer.

''Really Kian? can you not see that I'm busy??'' Sullivan hissed out in question, his voice lacking any bite to it, his tone more chiding than angry.

Turning to look towards the source of the voice, I was greeted by two sights.

One, the nice man from the motel was standing between me and the monster, his long, pretty hair was tied back in a braid, running down his back, his attention seemingly fully glued to the beast - yes, it was a beast - before him.

The second thing I noticed was the form the monster hunting me had taken.

A tall, towering, slightly human looking monster stood in the treeline, easily standing at least at nine or ten foot tall, it's arms disproportionately long, it's fingers touching the ground despite it standing up fully straight.

It's eyes had filled out fully by black, the only hint of color being a spot that clearly used to be it's pupils.

Nightmare. Nightmare. Nightmare.

Instinctively, I cowered closer to the man -Kian- holding me, my entire body shaking as if I had been out in the cold for a long period of time.

Kian chuckled softly at that, cooing something out at me as the other man - Sullivan - tuned his attention towards me, noticing my distress.

''Okay, prepare to catch him'' Sullivan warned, making my eyes widen in worry.

What. . .What is he going to do??

A trill of panic ran down my spine despite the fact that the man across from me had been nothing but nice to me.

The tall, lanky man moved swiftly over to the two of us, his movements graceful and fluid, as if he were gliding over the ground until he was standing next to the strong man holding me.

''Sorry Callum, but you need to go for a bit'' The man murmured softly, his dark, endless eyes boring into mine.

A hand reached up and gently cupped my face, his skin cold against mine.

Despite my panic, a tendril of worry curled around my heart at the fact that this nice man was so cold.

His eyes softened slightly before he whispered a soft 'sweet dreams'.

Then the world went black.

--- --- --- ---

Soft morning sunlight warmed my body as I stretched out underneath a light bed cover, a muffled groan leaving me as my back let out a quiet little pop.

That nightmare was one hell of a ride. . .

Opening my eyes, I was greeted by a. . .Strange room.

I'm. . .At the motel?

Confused, I started to sit up before a quiet mumble behind me made me freeze.

A heavy, warm arm wrapped around my waist, tugging me back down to the bed, making my heart pound away in my chest as I realized. . .I wasn't alone.

I held as still as a statue, refusing to move as my brain struggled to understand what was going on.

I'm back at the motel. . .There is a man in bed with me. . .I've no idea how I got here. . .I've no idea who's holding me. . .

The person. . .The man behind me, tugged me back against his chest, groaning quietly as he did so.

''Hmm? Oh, hey you're awake! Morning there beautiful'' A familiar voice rumbled warmly, rough with sleep but still recognizable.

The man from my nightmare! The one who caught me!

Another groan left the man as he released me, stretching his arms above his head as I slowly turned over, coming face to face with his bare chest.

The man -Kian- chuckled in amusement as I quickly covered my face, warmth tinging my skin out of embarrassment.

Why isn't he wearing a shirt!??

A quiet tapping noise from the direction of the room's only window drew Kian's attention, causing him to climb out of the bed.

Slowly lowering my hands, I was very relieved to see that only a shirt was missing and the man was otherwise fully dressed.

I slowly sat up as Kian opened the curtains the rest of the way, seemingly unconcerned with anyone outside seeing him only in a pair of grey sweatpants.

A crow with solid white eyes was perched on the windowsill, giving Kian what was a very valiant attempt at a disapproving glare.

''Hey clover, Sullivan send you to get us?'' The man guessed as I slowly climbed out of bed, curiously wandering a bit closer to the window.

The crow seemingly stared at me for a moment before nodding and flying off without any further adieu.

Kian nodded slowly before clapping his hands together happily.

''Alright then! Shall we my dear?'' Kian questioned, his voice light and slightly teasing as he held his arm out to me, a grin on his face.

what. . .what is going on. . .
