⁕ First Glance ⁕

                "Maddy"      My mom was calling me, today is the day we go to cousins for the summer except for last year I didn't go I stayed with my dad in his apartment but I mostly spent it with my best friend Leah we would spend all day in the book store drinking coffee. I love reading its my Escape Last summer was also the first time I ever picked up a cigarette, that was also a really good way to escape             

"Maddy, I called you three times," My mom said in a worried but still frustrated tone                  "Sorry Mom I spaced out, what did you want to say," I said still trying to shake off the memories from last summer "I wanted to see if you where done packing"  "Yes I was finished yesterday"  "We are leaving in 20 minutes, okay?" "Got it," I said as I put two thumbs up sarcastically she started to leave just then, she paused and said "Madison" My mom rarely uses my full name unless I am in trouble or it's a serious subject "I hope you know that I am glad you're coming to cousins with us we missed you a lot last summer, especially Connie" hearing his name made me feel a way I hadn't felt since I was a kid "I missed you too I just needed a break from everything and I wanted to spend time with Leah" None of that sentence was true 

                                                                     ***Flash forward***  

"ugh Maddy you're making me car sick," Belly says "Belly It's not my driving it's that you're reading in the car"  "She has a point," Steven says I was beginning to regret offering to drive, belly turned up the radio it was our song when we where kids we would have hole performances and we would force steven to hold the flashlight on us as we danced and sang in the living room once Conrad caught me dancing by myself and spun me around and danced with me and he didn't stop when Jeremiah and Steven walked in that was one of the many reasons I fell for him he made everything cool I don't know how but I admired it "I feel the tension in the air" Belly sang pulling me out of thought "No I can't let you leave" I snag with her swinging one hand in the air "so I kill my insecurities" Belly sang testing stevens patience then me and belly sang the loudest we could "oooohhhhhhhh you can't do beterrrrr"

"Where here," Belly says as Steven reaches over and honks the horn and Mom smacks him over the head everyone gets out of the car except me and Belly she pulls out lipgloss that Taylor gave her no doubt, and puts on some "Are you ok," belly asks "ya I just feel a little light-headed" which was true I felt like my head was going to turn into a balloon and float away "you will feel better when you smell the ocean," she said stepping out of the car she was right the ocean made everything fade away sometimes it even brought things back

I stepped out of the car and saw ..... Jeremiah he looked older and I could see his abs through his damp shirt "M" Jeremiah said in a shocked and confused way "J" I said with the same tone as him He pulled me into a hug "I missed you last summer" He said "me too" as he let me out of his bear hug I saw him I saw his eyes the light hit his blue eyes perfectly he saw me and then stopped, for a split second it was just us as we walked closer to each other "hey" he said "hey" as soon as he spoke I knew that summer would never be the same 

"do you know what time it is," Steven says "Ummm I think it's time for a" Jere said checking his imaginary watch "BELLY FLOP," They said together Belly ran but they caught her by her ankle and arms I laughed a little too soon just then Conrad threw me over his shoulder as I pounded on his back "Conrad I swear to go-" I hit the water "ow my ankle," I said to Conrad who looked a little concerned "can you help me out" He knelt down and put his hand out for me to grasp i took it and pulled him into the water as he came back up his arms circled my waist and when he came back up we where inches away and it's going to be a long summer
