Y/N woke up early enough to catch the sunrise. She sat in the chair by the window of her hotel room and watched the first colours of morning stretch across the city, showering it in shades of red, orange and pink. It was a lovely sight, definitely better than the sunrises she had witnessed in Plainview.
When the sun was high up in the sky, she went into the bathroom to get ready for the day.
Once she was finished, she decided to take on the very difficult task of waking up Rodrick.
She gently shook his shoulders. "Rodrick," she whispered. He didn't budge. "Rodrick," she repeated, louder this time.
He groaned and rolled over on his stomach, shoving his face into the pillows.
"Rodrick, you have to get up," she told him.
"No, I don't," he replied, his voice muffled by the pillows. "I can stay here if I want."
She sighed. "You're infuriatingly stubborn."
"I know," he replied. He turned over on his back to face her before sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
"Can you please get up now?" she asked.
He nodded and got off the bed before going into the bathroom to change. When he was ready, they made their way out of the room and into the elevator.
As the doors started to close, two people slipped inside the elevator. Unfortunately those two people were Heather and Brad.
Y/N and Rodrick exchanged a glance and scooted closer to one another so they were out of the way of Heather and Brad.
"Does my hair look good?" Heather asked.
Brad shrugged. "It looks fine," he muttered, going on his phone.
"Fine?" Heather shrilled. She began to panic. "We need to go back to the room so I can fix it."
"I said it looks fine don't make such a big deal about it," Brad told her.
"That's the problem," Heather whispered as she nervously twirled a strand of hair around her finger.
Brad furrowed his brows. "Can you stop being like that? You're driving me insane."
Rodrick let out a quiet laugh.
Brad and Heather looked at him. "Do you mind?" Heather asked with a scoff.
Rodrick shook his head, a grin on his face.
Heather rolled her eyes and faced forward.
A few seconds later, the elevator stopped. Everyone filed out and went to the buffet.
Rodrick and Y/N took their seats at a little table near a window. They hadn't spotted their friends yet, so they decided to sit by themselves.
On the table there were pitchers of orange juice and water. Rodrick quickly poured himself a glass of juice.
"Are you hungry?" he asked. Y/N nodded. "Okay, I'll go get a croissant."
He got up from the table and left. That's when Lexi took his spot. She reached over and took Y/N's hands. "It's our last day here. I'm sad. This place is too pretty to leave," she said.
Y/N smiled and patted Lexi's hand. "I know. But we're going to Paris and Transylvania."
"If they don't take us to the Eiffel tower or Dracula's castle, I will throw hands with the next person I see," said Lexi.
"Here you go," Rodrick said as he placed a plate down in front of Y/N.
Lexi got up from the table and said bye to Y/N before walking over to Ben.
