People Involved: Jason (MinecraftUniverse), Ian (Ssundee), Quentin (HuskyMudkipz), Ty (Deadlox), Adam (SkyDidMinecraft/DoesEverything [he's got a few names now, okay?]), Jerome (JeromeASF), Mitch (BajanCanadian), Seto (SetoSorcerer)

Ships: kinda sorta not really Merome and Skylox

Word Count: 6414, not including "Original Story" at the end

Idea: Jason goes crazy over the fact that everyone forgot his birthday. Yeah, it's that ridiculously stupid and simple but I love it.

Other Notes: So, this oneshot idea was first begun probably about four years ago, and has been collecting dust in my drafts since then. Since I've been super nostalgic recently, I found the motivation to pick this back up and rewrite it all, giving it more depth and hopefully some more reality along the way. Please note, they are meant to be in Minecraft for this, so they are their Minecraft skins. If you don't know them, do you even Team Crafted, bro? Anyway, hope you enjoy, and hope you cringe a bit to at how blunt and direct the original was. Until Next Time, Peace my Cheeses! I love you all <3

TRIGGER WARNINGS: Will contain suggestions and/or depictions of death, insanity, traumatic events of the past, serious injury, and serious emotions. You can tell where the sad songs started playing on my playlist. Stay safe and read at your own risk!

6414, not including bonus at end

One day. They had forgotten one day. How bad could that be, right? It was just one day. But they had no idea. They couldn't even begin to fathom how big just one day could be. Oh, were they clueless. Confused? Let me begin to tell you the tale.

It started with them forgetting his birthday.

Now normally, this could be forgiven. People are busy, and sometimes they forget things. But his friends weren't the type of people to just forget birthdays. They all still knew Kermit and Dan's birthdays, hell, Adam could still remember Dawn's birthday. So the chances of each and every one of them forgetting his birthday was slim to none. What did it mean, then, that the boy hadn't gotten a single happy birthday?

They were ignoring his birthday. This was on purpose.

Normally, this would be a pretty cruel move, but for Jason it was more than that. The boy had been raised on another planet, hence the spacesuit he wore at all times. He took the human name out of their preference, because they couldn't even begin to try to pronounce his real name. His whole life thus far had been a huge case of culture shock, and the Team were the only reason he had made it this far through this. But Jason's birthday was that much more important to him for that reason. It was the only thing that didn't change when he traveled to Minecraftia. Even here, you would celebrate your day of birth every time it passed. While Jason's people used to celebrate such day to appreciate that you had been able to survive the perils of the previous year, and would get to see another, Jason could still appreciate that here it was just a way to enjoy your life more. However, that doesn't mean that Jason realized the same implications weren't carried over between the two cultures.

On Jason's home planet, your whole village- or so was the human word for it- would come together your day of birth. It was a day of rejoice, a day of splendor. Everyone would take part in the festivities, young or old, no matter how well they knew you. In fact, very heavy accusations were placed upon any person who wouldn't join in to celebrate someone's livelihood with the others. At home, if you did not join in congratulating someone for their survival of the past year, it meant you didn't wish they had. Jason had only ever encountered one individual who did such a thing, and they were the one who left Jason's home in ruins and his family in graves. It was the day that he had to leave his home, his mother sending off the rocket with only him inside. He had to watch out the small window as she was slaughtered.
