It's been twenty minutes since we arrived home. Everyone tried to maintain a normal composure until my grandparents went off to sleep. I was in my room, all drenched from the rain. I knew there was a council waiting for me outside but all I could think about was the hurt in Dua's eyes when she was being dragged away after knowing the half truth.

Kabir came into my room two minutes later, "Everyone's calling you in the hall, what the hell happened that everyone's so mad?"

"First tell me how did they know where I was?" I asked.

"Do you really forget sometimes what family we come from? They have eyes everywhere." Kabir gave the obvious answer. When I went downstairs, the tension in the atmosphere could be cut by a knife. "Aagaya shehzaada." My mom shook her head controlling her anger. (Here comes the prince)

"Aur zaleel karwana hain toh pehle hi bata doon." My uncle taunted from the side.
(If you want to humiliate us more tell us beforehand.)

I looked at my dad to find him pacing down the hall. I was expecting him to react and right that moment it was as if I jinxed myself. Suddenly something hit him and he started walking towards me in a faster speed, and before I knew it I saw his branded shoe flying towards me which I dodged by mere inches. "Dad!" I protested. Typical desi parents behavior but I had to encounter it the first time because I hadn't gotten him this mad before.

"Aaj ya toh yeh mere hatoon marega ya phir mujhe mardega apni harkatoon se!" My dad's voice roared as he tried to come at me but my mom held him.
(Either he will die at my hands today or kill me instead!)

"Sirf aisi hi ek ladki ki wajah se yeh sab? Ladkiyo ki kya kami par gayi hain?" My mom added.
(All this for just some girl? Is there a shortage of girls in this world?)

"Dua aisi koi ladki nahi Meri Jaan hain woh." I answered making everyone gasp at my statement.
(Dua isn't just some girl she is my everything.)

"Besharam kahika isse toh mein aaj hi mar dunga!" My Dad shouted at me.
(Shameless boy! I will kill him today!)

"Sach bolne mein kaisi sharam?" I defended myself and Ahaan smirked at me from beside.
(What's the shame in saying the truth?)

"Badtameez! Yeh sab tum logon ki lad pyaar ke wajah se huya hain! Aur sar pe charao isse." He told my mom and my aunts.
(Manerless! All of this is happening because you guys spoiled him with your love.)

"Dad itna gussa thik nahi hain." I tried to calm him down.
(Dad so much anger isnt right)

"THIK NAHI HAIN? AAJ VO MALIK KYUN MEIN HI ISSE GOLI MAR DUNGA! Ahaan get my gun and make sure there's two bullets!" His anger was justified right now.
(ITS NOT RIGHT? WHY JUST THE MALIKS? I, MYSELF WILL SHOOT YOU TODAY.)
