My mama been in the hospital for a week now and it was time for her to leave. Dj wasnt answering his phone so I went to pick her up myself.
Janet: Lexi grab my cup of ice

I reached over to the table and grabbed it then handed it to her

She crunched on her ice
Janet: My discharge papers and my doctor

I sighed

She cleared her throat and straightened herself up.

I looked outside

I had this big ass smile plastered across my face. She crunched on some ice

I sat back in the chair and flipped thru the channels. About twenty minutes later a nurse walked in with a thick packet of papers
Nurse: Ms. Wilson hi
Janet: Those my discharge papers
Nurse: Yes ma'am and Dr. Stevens will be in here shortly
She handed my mom her papers then left. My mom looked over them then took a sip water out her cup of ice that had melted some. She pointed to her bag in the other chair
Janet: Give me my clothes
I got up and handed her clothes to her. She got dressed and we waited for her doctor to get in there.
Dr.Stevens: Ms. Wilson
He peeked around the corner, she smiled
Janet: Yes
Dr.Stevens: I need for you to take it easy OK
He said walkin all the way in the room
Janet: I will Doc
He looked at me
Dr.Stevens: Please make sure she takes it easy and let anyone else kno
Janet: Speaking of where is my son Lexi
Dr.Stevens: Janet
He grabbed my mom's hand
Dr.Stevens: You kno there's nothing we can do at this point I really want you to take it easy
She smiled with tears in her eyes
Janet: I kno Joe I kno...
I just sat in silence. My heart sunk, I really don't wanna lose my mama but I know God is just calling his angel home. Dr. Stevens decided to walk us out to the lobby.
Janet: Thanks Joe
Dr.Stevens: You're welcome and be a stranger to this place

They hugged and we walked out to the car.
Janet: You never answered my question
I got in the car and put on my seat belt

She rolled her eyes then pulled out a book to read. I pulled off and we headed toward Dj's house. When we pulled in the driveway his car was parked funny. We walked in but didn't see him anywhere. We tried calling him but no answer

I rubbed her back then sent her upstairs

I called Amber but her dumb ass didn't answer the phone so I left a message then I called August

We hung up and about ten minutes later Dj came stumbling thru the door Dj: Thank ya man for the ride

Dj let my arm go then dropped the beer bottle he had and charged at August

She threw her hands up and walked back into her room. I went and sat in a chair and watched these two fight like idiots.
August: Man Dj I told you ian kno bout her. She called me the other night sayin she was gone tell you so I ain't have too
Dj was breathing heavy with his arms around August and August had him in a head lock. Dj pushed away from him and August released him.

Dj leaned against the wall still breathing hard. August walked over towards me and sat down

After everything calmed down my mama came down to the kitchen.

She smiled and hugged him then got up
Janet: Ok baby ... I gotta pee
I shook my head at her holdin her pee and August laughed and she ran, well danced to the bathroom. August looked me and smiled

I smirked and he came around the counter and stood behind me. He placed his on top of mine then leaned down and kissed my cheek

I turned around and put my hands on chest then pushed him away

He sighed
August: I met her at a club I hit a few times end of story

I walked in the living room a flopped down on the couch and started flipping thru channels. My mom sat next to me

Lexi: I get my final grades Friday so hopefully celebrating

My mama laughed
