Hello!

Thank you for choosing this story!

English is not my first language, so mistakes can occur, for which I apologize in advance.

I only own the fictional characters and plot, all real people such as Formula 1 drivers and other public figures do NOT belong to me. The story and all actions may not be copied, translated or reused, not even with appropriate attribution.

In this story Carlos will be driving for RedBull in the 2025 season so don't be confused if during this story he announces his team for the next season and it isn't RedBull (or maybe it is), this has nothing to do with the story as in here everything is fictional.

If you have any questions or comments, please leave a comment. I would also appreciate feedback or your opinion in general. A star would also make me very happy and show me that you like my work.

Have fun reading!

Same but Different
a Carlos Sainz story

"You hate me. I hate you. It's all fine, except that I can't get you out of my head."

Carlos Sainz joins RedBull Racing after being fired by Ferrari. He is at the peak of his performance and is just looking forward to a good car and great racing. But not everything is perfect in his new team, like Max's new press officer who seemed to hate the Spaniard, and surprisingly he wasn't her biggest fan either.

Sofia van Camp, childhood friend of Max Verstappen, had been in the paddock a few times with her boyfriend and later fiance, racing driver Rafael Lopez, also a good friend of the Dutchman. After a year she returned to the paddock because Max's press officer had given birth to a child and therefore could not work during this new season.

With Carlos being the second driver next to Max, things could only go wrong as Sofia's experiences with celebrities, especially Spanish racing drivers, weren't the best.
So there was no other way but to hate Carlos.

He was so similar and yet so different to what she had expected.
But good different or bad different, that was the question.
