Wren walked back through the halls and bumped into Janson.

"Janson, sorry- I wasn't looking where I was going." Wren shook her head, taking a small limp back

"It's.. fine, Wren." Janson muttered, "I need you to look through the blood samples and test to see who is most needed out of all the ones in Maze A."

"I don't have any blood samples from them." Wren said, "They've just arrived."

"Then get some." Janson replied, glancing around the hallway, "And, that boy you favour. What was his name- Aris?"

"Why do we have to hurt them?" Wren mumbled

"Excuse me?" Janson looked back at her

"I don't want to have to hurt these people. Thomas and Teresa are a part of the group as well." Wren spoke up

Janson took in a deep breath and pointed his finger at her. "Listen here, Wren." He began, "You are going to-."

"No I'm not!" She cut him off, but that's when he slapped her. His hand didn't hit her cheek, but her jaw. Where she had a cut she didn't remember where she got.

She slowly turned her head back to look at him. Janson went to continue talking, but Wren pushed past him and walked down the hallway. Wren turned a corner and bumped into Newt.

"What is it with me and bumping into people." Wren mumbled, "Sorry, A5."

"Wren, it's me." Newt looked into her eyes, his hands moving under her hair and to her cheeks.

"I'm sorry, A5. I know who you are, but you need to get back to your room." Wren smiled softly at him, the same smile he had managed to get used to in the Glade. But it wasn't her.

"What did they do to you?" Newt whispered to her, tilting his head slightly to the side and seeing her all so familiar scar on her jaw, but it now looked fresh, opened. His expression stiffened, and so did his tone, "What did they do to you?"

"That's none of your concern, A5. But, no one did anything to me." Wren stepped back

"Wren, this cut hasn't been open for a year. What suddenly happened for it to open?" Newt asked

"You should head to your room, A5." Wren mumbled

"It's Newt." He told her

"Newt." She nodded, "You should still join your friends and head to your room."

"Wren." Newt moved his hands back to her cheeks, "You need to remember. The Maze, the fields, Alby, Chuck, Gally, Jared..."

"You need to head back to your room." Wren grabbed his wrist, "I have things to do, so if you don't mind, I would like to get said things done."

"What. Have. They. Done. To. You?" He asked again, more firmly and clearer

Wren looked up at him, then pushed past him as a guard walked over. "Take A5 back to his room." Wren told the guard in a mumble before walking down the hallway.

She made her way over to Aris' room and unlocked the door to see all the others asleep except for him.

"Aris." Wren whispered as she walked in

Aris walked over to her, "What are you doing here?"

"I know what you're doing, Aris. I know what you've found out." She whispered, "And, I need you to convince the kids from Maze A, please. I don't know why, but they act like I should know them."

"But, Wren-." Aris began

"No buts. I need you to do this." She whispered, then turned to see a few guards in the hallway. Wren turned back to Aris, "Please."

Aris didn't have time to nod before Wren had closed the door on him. Wren nodded to the guards as a symbol of a 'hello' before walking down the corridor. She soon met up with Dr Crawford, who had guards pushing beds with blankets over them behind her.

"Another batch?" Wren asked, unlocking a door with her keypad

"Yes." Dr Crawford nodded as the guards pushed the blanket covered beds into the now unlocked room.

"Like clockwork." Wren forced a smile as Dr Crawford walked into the room after the beds.

The doors closed and Wren's smile faded as she turned on her heel. Wren looked up at the vent on the ceiling and winked, knowing Aris would be there. She heard the vent rattle and she walked off down the hallway again.
