season two, episode six
Emory sat on the porch's steps as Carl walked up toward her, his father beside him. He smiled at her and she smiled back.
"This is Emory," Rick said, introducing her and Carl waved.
"You can call me Em or Emmy if you'd like" she said.
"I'm Carl," he said and she nodded.
"I know, you had everyone scared these past few days. I'm glad to see you're doing better, that was a scary thing that happened but you're so strong," she said making him blush and Rick smiled.
"We're gonna teach the others how to shoot, would you like to join us?" Rick asked, he had noticed how quiet and scared the girl was. He doubted she knew how to shoot a gun but it wouldn't hurt for her to learn.
She looked hesitant but it wouldn't hurt to get some practice in so she nodded.
Shane gathered some empty bottles and they headed toward the trees with Jimmy, Patricia, Andrea and T-dog.
Shane set the bottles up on the fence for target practice while Rick handed her a colt python. She held it in her hand, feeling the weight of it as the others began to shoot. Shane watched, not sure giving the scared girl a gun was a good idea.
"Relax, focus on what you want to hit and shoot," Rick instructed her as she held the gun up, evenly distributing her weight.
She closed one of her eyes, narrowing on the several bottles in front of her, her finger lightly squeezing the trigger.
She shot the first bottle, onto the second one all the way to the fifth one, quick and cleanly. Rick laughed in surprise while Shane and Andrea were left gaping.
"You knew how to shoot already,"Rick said as she turned around, handing him the gun and she nodded. It felt good to shoot something, she remembered the first time her daddy had taken her to shoot a pistol and she jumped back, tossing it to the ground but now she didn't fear it.
"My daddy taught me but I didn't want to correct your assumptions," she said making him nod, holding his hands up.
"My apologies," he said before she walked away. Shane turned too, suddenly the girl seemed a whole lot more interesting.

Maggie angrily told Emory how Glenn had went into the barn last night, how he told Dale what he saw and how Dale told her father.
Emory understood why Maggie was mad, she trusted Glenn and didn't feel like dealing with her father but Emory also understood Glenn.
She didn't agree with keeping the walkers in the barn, she didn't agree that they were going to become human again because of a cure that didn't even exist. Glenn was scared, and his loyalty lied with his friends.
