Daryl tried to get Ricks attention, waving his hand infront of the disoriented man but Rick didn't move.

"Rick, you with me? Rick?" Daryl called but Rick didn't budge from his spot on the ground as Emory handed the baby to Carl.

"Let me see the baby," Hershel said, watching the boy walk toward him.

"What are we gonna feed it? We got anything a baby can eat?" Daryl asked as Hershel took a look at the baby.

"The good news is she looks healthy. But she needs formula and soon or she won't survive," Hershel said while the baby continued to cry.

"Nope. No way. Not her. We ain't losing nobody else. I'm going for a run," Daryl declared, putting his cross bow on his back.

"I'll back you up," Maggie said needing to put distance between her and what just happened.

"I'll go too" Glenn added.

"Okay, think where we're going. Emory." He said pulling the distraught girl toward him.

"Kid just lost his mom. His dad ain't doing so hot,"Daryl whispered and she nodded, blinking back her tears.

"I'll look after them," she spoke, her voice cracking but Daryl nodded.

"You two get the fence. Too many pile up, we got ourselves a problem. Glenn, Maggie, vámonos," Daryl said, taking leadership till Rick could function again.

The sound of metal scraping had heads turning to see Rick grabbing his axe, running inside, ignoring Maggie's call for him.

"Get the gate," Daryl said while Emory rubbed Carls back.

"Come on, we're gonna lose the light, Daryl yelled forcing the three to run. Glenn ended up staying leaving Maggie and Daryl to leave on Daryl's motorcycle.

Hershel smiled at Emory cradling the baby in her arms. She didn't mean to hold her but for some reason she kept gravitating towards her. The more she held her, the less afraid she felt.

She liked how the baby made her feel like there was still good in the world, like there was still hope. After Beth told her T-dog and Carol died, and then with Lori, she needed something good in her life.

Daryl's words played in her head, how she had agreed to take care of Carl and his sister, Rick too. But Lori's final words played like a broken record, everytime she thought about it, she'd look to Carl with watery eyes. A sweet boy in a broken world.
