————The cabin of the airplane hummed softly, the gentle vibrations of the engines almost lulling the passengers into a state of calm.
Mina sat with her legs crossed, a stack of papers balanced on her lap, her pen poised as she meticulously worked through each document.
Her concentration was usually unwavering, the kind that allowed her to block out everything else around her. But tonight, something kept pulling her attention away from her work.
To her right, Y/n was holding her tablet, her eyes scanning the screen with the same focus Mina usually reserved for her paperwork.
It wasn't unusual for Y/n to be so absorbed in whatever she was doing—Mina had seen her like this countless times.
But there was something different tonight, something Mina couldn't quite put her finger on.
Every few minutes, Y/n's hand would drift away from the tablet and rest against her chest.
The motion was slow, almost unconscious, as if Y/n herself wasn't aware she was doing it.
Mina noticed it the first time, but she brushed it off as a one-time thing.
But then Y/n did it again.
And again.
Mina's pen hovered over the paper, forgotten, as she subtly shifted her gaze to watch Y/n more closely.
She didn't want to be obvious about it, but her curiosity was piqued, and her concern was slowly growing.
Y/n's face was calm, her expression serene, but Mina couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right.
Another minute passed, and once again, Y/n's hand lifted from the tablet and came to rest on her chest.
This time, it lingered there a bit longer before she returned it to the tablet. Mina's brow furrowed slightly as she observed this.
There was no visible sign of discomfort on Y/n's face, no wince of pain or furrow of the brow, but the repeated gesture was enough to make Mina suspicious.
What was she doing? Why did she keep touching her chest like that? Was she feeling something that she wasn't mentioning?
A pang of worry shot through Mina, but she quickly pushed it down, reminding herself that Y/n would tell her if something was wrong...
wouldn't she?
Mina tried to refocus on her paperwork, but the words on the page started to blur together, her mind refusing to let go of the concern that had taken root.
She continued to sneak glances at Y/n, watching as her hand once again drifted to her chest, fingers pressing lightly against the fabric of her shirt.
Mina couldn't stay silent forever. The worry gnawed at her, making it impossible to concentrate on anything else.
The plane hit a small patch of turbulence, causing a slight jolt.
