TGCF react to future and past

In the midst of pulling and ushering the group of people Xie lian suddenly felt beside him Hua cheng's arm has gone stiff and he stopped moving.

"huh? This wasn't where we last stopped?" Qianqiu asked

"Yes I have skipped some scenes it was not that important"

"ohh"

Xie lian turned to look at him and even though hua cheng still wore the skin of clean-cut young man his eyes were blazing with rage.

Many of them shivered at the sight of that as they all got used to smiley Hua cheng whenever he was with Xie lian.

Hua cheng was always smiling and Xie lian knew his emotions were hidden deep within. Xie lian has never seen such a violent, blatant fury in his eyes. He followed his gaze and next moment his own breath hitched.

Befor that giant chair, there was a kneeling statue. It gave the very picture of a 'homeless dog'. Whoever crafted that statue his whole purpose was to humiliate this person.

"this man has the worst taste tbh" Pei ming clicked his tongue.

"why would someone make statue like that?" Qingxuan said frowning.

And Xie lian didn't need to turn the statue around to know it's face must be same as his own.

Many people may not know how their back looked but Xie lian was different. After the fall of Xianle, the citizens burnt down his temple, robbed out the precious gems from his statues. Yet they were still not satisfied, so to went their anger they started making statues just like this. They were used as thresholds. After the fall of Xianle these statues were normal sight. So of course Xie lian was very familiar with it.

"People don't appreciate what you do for them" Yin yu said as he looked at Xie lian but frowned when he saw how xie lian looked. He looked like he would just fall down from his chair just as he was about to ask if prince was alright, he did fell.

But before he could hit the ground hua cheng grabbed him "gege?"

"Your highness?"

"Don't worry I just put his highness to sleep" lovi said and hua cheng glare made her wish she'd vanish into thin air.

"Why?" Ling wen asked
"well I don't want him to relive another nightmare that he had lived before. Also he needs proper rest" lovi said ushering hua cheng to take him to their room.

Well ofc it was also lovi who set em up ;)

hua cheng came back in room after making Xie lian comfortable on bed.

"let's continue" pei su said.

These types of statues were placed in many cities and towns so how can he not recognise his own back?
Just then a voice of young man said "That mangly little scum had to cling the legs of that pei whore to ascend this time. Ruining my plans who does he thinks he is? Once I'm through with him even if the wind dries his corpse no one will dare go collect it!"

"he's really annoying" shi wudu said
"how come you guys never killed him....knowing your temper" pei ming asked fengqing although his last few words were just whispers.

Before the person even showed himself they could already hear his insults. Xie lian looked over and saw a man clad in all green strut into the cave. For some reason not worth mentioning Xie lian looked at the top of his head and was little disappointed when he didn't saw green candle type light.

"hahaha his highness is really cute" Shi qingxuan commented.

This man only had a mask on his face no green light above his head. Little ghosts surrounded him forming a circle as they cheered him on. This man could only be one calamaties green ghost Qi rong.

Ever since nan feng mentioned his name Xie lian kept thinking wondering if this Qi rong was the same Qi rong he knew. But later on thought that it must be just a coincidence. Who in the ghost world goes around using their real name?

Now after listening his voice it was more than clear. From their chatter Xie lian could figure out what happened, it seemed like he sent some ghosts to stir up trouble in ghost city but they were decimated by hua cheng. Qi rong again gathered up some henchmen and was ready to attack again but those ghosts bumped into exiled pei su who didn't had anything to do. So he thought he might as well as clean them up so they were decimated once again.

"You never learn do you?" Mu qing said rolling his eyes at Qi rong.

"Fuck off"

After Qi rong received the news of how many henchmen he has lost in such less time he was frustrated and started cursing nonstop.

"Like ancestor like descendants - that manwh*ore pei ming xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

Xie lian resisted the urge to cover his ears. That group of little green ghosts agreed with Qi Rong loudly.
He probably remembered the able subordinates he’d worked so hard to raise and continued.

“Too bad that fiery, good woman Xuan Ji was captured by those two
shameless Pei curs and was wronged so miserably. She can’t be saved, even now!”

Xie lian couldn't fully agree to those words, true xuan ji has tragic end but not everything was general pei's fault. Those seventeen brides she kidnapped and killed them in cold blood, tha was her own decision.

Feiry for sure, but weather she was good woman or bad it was debatable. But to say junior pei ascended just because he kissed up to General pei was something Xie lian also couldn't agree. After seeing so many ascend and fall over the years, there was one
thing Xie Lian could say with absolute certainty: the skilled may not always
ascend, but the ascended are always skilled.

"that's true.... The ascended are always skilled" yushi huang commented and others nodded in agreement.

Obviously, those things weren’t within the realm of consideration for Qi Rong. He swore like there wasn’t a single person in the Three Realms he didn’t want cursed to death. His words were "Jun wu's a hypocrite, ling wen's a cow, the pei's are sl*ts, Lang Qianqiu stupid. Quan Yizhen sucks, water and wind master? Nasty bi*ches. If Xie
Lian wasn’t seeing it now with his own two eyes, he wouldn’t be able to believe anyone could be so resentful.

The scene obviously irked almost everyone in the room.
"Your highness I have new found respect for you.. How did he even managed not to kill him" shi wudu said fanning himself trying to calm  down.

He Xuan just rolled his eyes and looked at Shi Qingxuan who was also trying to calm down.

Finally, Qi Rong made it to the main point, which was how Hua Cheng and that lurking Ship-Sinking Black Water looked down on him. They were mere supremes; one day for sure he’d make them kneel before him. Xie lian knew that he should be angry but he found it hilarious instead, he can't imagine how that would even play out.

"yeah mere supremes" hua cheng said sarcastically scoffing.
