Piper

I looked in the body mirror that Emily brought for me a few minutes before I got changed. I had the mirror hanging on the inside of the closet door. Anyways. I'm wearing a blue over the shoulder dress with grey designs along the hem. The dress ended a little above mid-thigh. There were ruffles at the top and on my sleeves. I tied the ribbon around my waist before slipping on my nude heels. I stared at the mirror, trying to figure out what I was missing.

My hair was pinned to the side with loose curls. I have my shoes. I shaved my legs. I put on my nude lipstick. "Earrings!" I exclaimed. I went back into the bathroom and grabbed my silver-colored earrings. They were circles with designs in the center. I feel like I'm too tall. Maybe I should just wear flats. But then I'll be short. Well, my heels make me about 5'10", but with flats, I'm at my regular height, 5'8".

A knock on the door pulled me from my internal debate. Mason popped his head through the crack. "Hey, Pipes. You look great" he said while kissing the crown of my head.

"Thanks, Mase" I said with a smile. I stared at my shoes. Both pairs are nude, the only thing that changes is my height. "Heels or flats?" I asked Mason.

He stared at my shoes for a while before pointing at the heels. "You could always get a little taller" he said while softly patting my head. I swatted his hands away.

I rolled my eyes as I slipped back on the heels. "You're like two inches taller than me" I stated.

Mason shook his head. "I'm actually three inches taller than you" he said, emphasizing the word. Whoa, I was one inch off. My bad. I thought. With a huff, I sat on the bed whilst Mason went into the closet to change.

I looked down at my dress and flattened it down. Self-consciously, I undid the ribbon around my waist and re-tied it. "Ugh!" I groaned. I quickly pulled the bow out and slowly tied it back. It's so uneven. Again, I untied the ribbon and retied it.

"Hey" Mason said softly, as he stopped my hands from undoing the bow again. "What did the poor thing ever do to you?" he joked.

I looked up to meet his blue eyes. "Maybe I should just wear a different dress" I suggested. I got off the bed and started digging through my suitcase.

"What? Why?" Mason asked, obviously confused. I rolled my eyes and turned around so I was facing him. I gestured to the dress, but he looked even more confused. "What's wrong with this dress?" he questioned.

I pulled on the stupid bow and fixed the shoulders of my dress. "This stupid thing is uneven and it's really short. I don't even like the color. And-" I ranted.

Mason put his hand on my mouth, cutting off my jabbering. "You look great. The strings themselves are uneven" he stated while turning the blue ribbon and tieing it for me. "And you look amazing in blue. So what are you really stressing out about?" he inquired.

Sometimes, I wish he didn't know me so well. "This whole thing. What if Alpha Caleb is like Alpha Te-"

"Don't even compare Caleb to that man" Mason hissed, not even letting me say his name. Without even knowing half of what Alpha Terence did to me, my new family- Mason, Liam, Kat, Sam, Toby, Mandy, basically the whole pack- hates him.

I sighed. "Even if Alpha Caleb is the best Alpha ever-"

"He is the greatest Alpha alive" Mason stated, cutting me off once again. Wow, this guy must be good. If he can get another Alpha to admit that someone else is a better Alpha, then he's freaking amazing.

"The rogues found me once, and they can find me again. I don't want another pack to go down with me" I said, barely over a whisper. I hung my head in shame and played with the now perfect and even bow.
