Best of Me

The BTS members had eagerly anticipated their 10-day vacation. For years, they had been almost inseparable, living together, practicing together, performing together. This vacation was a rare opportunity for each of them to enjoy some personal time with their families and loved ones, something they cherished deeply.

Jungkook had headed to Busan to spend some time with his parents and older brother. The first three days were filled with laughter and stories from his childhood. He relished the homemade meals and the comfort of being in his old room. But as the third day turned into night, he found himself staring at the ceiling, feeling a strange emptiness. His family had gone to bed early, and the house was eerily quiet. He missed the chaos of the dorm, the constant chatter, and the presence of his hyungs.

Unable to sleep, Jungkook picked up his phone and scrolled through his contacts until he found Jin's name. He hesitated for a moment, not wanting to disturb him, but the need to hear a familiar voice was too strong.

"Hyung?" Jungkook's voice was tentative when Jin answered the call.

"Jungkook-ah! What's up?" Jin's cheerful voice brought an immediate sense of relief.

"I... I just wanted to see how you were doing," Jungkook admitted, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Jin chuckled. "I'm doing great! But if I'm honest, I've been missing you guys too. My brother even joked that we can't survive without each other."

Jungkook laughed. "Your brother might be right. It's only been three days, and I already miss everyone."

The two continued to chat for a long time, sharing their vacation experiences and catching up on little things. Jin talked about his family and the delicious meals his mom had been cooking. They laughed about old memories and teased each other, just like they always did. The conversation stretched into the early hours of the morning, but neither seemed to mind. It felt good to reconnect, even from a distance.

Meanwhile, in Daegu, Suga was enjoying some rare alone time in his studio. His family respected his need for solitude and allowed him to retreat into his music. But as he worked on a new track, he felt an itch he couldn't scratch. He missed the background noise of the dorm, the spontaneous jam sessions, and even the playful arguments.

On the third night, he found himself dialing Namjoon's number almost unconsciously. When Namjoon picked up, there was a moment of silence on both ends.

"Suga-hyung?" Namjoon sounded surprised.

"Yeah, it's me," Suga replied, his voice soft. "How's the vacation going?"

Namjoon chuckled. "It's good. Just been spending time with family, reading, and working out a bit. How about you?"

"Same. Been working on some music, but... it's too quiet here," Suga admitted, surprising even himself with the admission.

Namjoon laughed. "I know what you mean. I miss the noise too. Who would've thought we'd miss each other this much?"

Their conversation flowed naturally, as it always did. They discussed music, their families, and even some new ideas for their next album. Suga found himself feeling more relaxed and content after the call. It was a big deal for him to reach out like this, but it felt right.

Taehyung, Jimin, and J-Hope were experiencing similar feelings. Taehyung had been in Jeju, taking in the serene landscapes and spending time with his parents and dog. Jimin was back in Busan, enjoying his mother's cooking and catching up with old friends. J-Hope was in Gwangju, visiting his sister and soaking in the nostalgia of his hometown.

Despite the beautiful sceneries and the warmth of their families, they all found themselves missing the group dynamic. Taehyung and Jimin had been on a video call almost every night, sharing their experiences and laughing over silly things. They even roped J-Hope into their calls, and soon enough, it became a nightly ritual for the three of them.

One evening, as Taehyung, Jimin, and J-Hope were on a video call, they couldn't stop talking about how much they missed the dorm.

"Remember how Jin-hyung would cook us late-night meals?" J-Hope said, his eyes twinkling with nostalgia.

"And how Jungkook would stay up gaming," Jimin added, laughing.

"And Suga-hyung's constant insistence that we practice," Taehyung finished, grinning.

They all laughed, feeling a warm sense of camaraderie even through the screen.

As the 10 days drew to a close, the members felt a mix of emotions. They cherished the time spent with their families but were eager to reunite. When they finally returned to the dorm, the relief was palpable.

Jungkook was the first to arrive, followed closely by Jin. The two hugged tightly, grinning from ear to ear. One by one, the other members trickled in, each greeting met with loud exclamations and warm embraces.

Namjoon looked around at his reunited family and smiled. "Looks like Jin-hyung's brother was right. We really can't live without each other."

They all laughed, the sound filling the dorm with a familiar and comforting warmth.

Suga, usually reserved, spoke up with a rare smile. "It's good to be home."

Taehyung threw an arm around Jimin and J-Hope, pulling them into a group hug. "I missed you guys so much!"

Jimin nodded, his eyes shining with emotion. "Me too. It's not the same without all of us together."

J-Hope looked around at his brothers, feeling a sense of completeness. "We really are a family, aren't we?"

Jin nodded, his eyes misty. "Yeah, we are."

As they settled back into their usual routines, the dorm was filled with the lively banter and laughter that had been missing during their vacation. They realized that while they loved their families and needed time apart, their bond was something truly special.

They had always known that BTS was more than just a group; it was a family. And no matter where they went or how much time they spent apart, that bond would always bring them back together.

The vacation had given them a newfound appreciation for each other and a deeper understanding of their connection. It was clear that, while they could enjoy time apart, they were at their best when they were together.

And as they sat down for a meal that Jin had prepared, they couldn't help but feel grateful for each other. They were home, and they were complete once more.
