"What is it, Mama?" Erick asked for the tenth time. Zelda rolled her eyes, not glancing up from the painting she was working on,
"What makes you think something's wrong?" She asked. She heard him put his toy down and get up. He walked up behind her, looking at what she was painting,
"Because you don't paint people unless something's wrong," he said. Her eyes widened slightly, and she looked up at him. Did she? How would he notice such a small detail? "Did Daddy upset you?" He asked, pointing at the portrait of him she had started. She smiled slightly and kissed his forehead,
"No, he didn't. I just wish he was here," she said. He smiled and grabbed her hand,
"Don't worry! He said he would be back soon, remember?" She nodded,
"Yeah. Come on, your bath should be ready now," she stood up. He took off,
"No baths!" He yelled as he went. She chuckled, turning and walking to her closet. After seven years, she knew how to respond.
She thumbed through her clothes mindlessly, and soon she heard him tiptoe back into the room,
"No bath?" He asked. She shrugged,
"If you don't want to..." She said. He laughed and went back to his toys happily,
"I guess I can put the ice cream back then," Zelda added, still having her back to him. Silence followed. She smiled to herself,
"Ice cream?" He asked quietly,
"Yes, I had some ordered for after your bath, but since you don't want to take one, it won't be needed," she replied, walking over to the bell to call the maid. Erick's eyes widened,
"Wait! I want a bath!" He said, standing up,
"Are you sure?" Zelda asked, hand still extended towards the bell. He nodded eagerly. She smiled,
"Ok then, get your clothes," Erick nodded and went to get them.
It had been about a week since Link left, and it was still weird to not have him around. She hadn't realized how much he did without her knowing. Without him there, she was much busier with stupid things, not that she hurried after them like she would have years before.
"I've got them! Do they match this time?" He held up a white, sleeveless shirt, a red sash that went around his waist, and loose brown capris. Zelda chuckled,
"More or less," she said, taking them from him and leading him out of the room.

"Can I please know what the woman told you after Dad left?" He asked as she washed his hair. She sighed. He had been bugging her almost nonstop since it had been told to her,
"Erick-"
"Dad's not here right now, Mom. That means he can't help you right now. I'm the only one left and I want to help you! But I can't if you won't tell me. Please?" He interrupted, turning and looking at her. Her eyes widened, surprised at the maturity of what he said. It took her several moments to respond,
"You're done. Come get dressed," she said, standing and getting a towel,
"Are you going to tell me?" He pushed again,
"If you do what I told you," she said, raising an eyebrow. He took the towel and started drying off, glancing up at her expectantly. She sighed and leaned against the counter, looking up,
"She told me...that I'm going to have another baby," she said slowly and quietly. He gasped, looking excited,
"Really?! Wow! Hylia gave you another baby?" She smiled slightly,
"Something like that," she said, holding back a laugh,
"So why are you sad?" He asked, getting back to the subject,
"Because your father isn't here for it," she responded truthfully. He hugged her waist,
"Don't worry Mama! I'm sure he'll be back before my brother comes!" She chuckled,
"I know, and what makes you think you'll get a brother?" She asked, pushing back his hair. He pressed his ear to her stomach for a moment,
"Yup. He's a boy. My older brother sense tells me so!" She rolled her eyes, smiling,
"Ok, well get dressed, super-brother," she said, walking out the door and shutting it behind. She took a deep breath. Hopefully he was right about Link.
