Wake up. Brush your teeth. Choose from the same old outfits. Shower. Dress up. Comb your hair. Breakfast. A bus ride to school. Lectures. Back home. Job 1. Study. Job 2. Sleep.

Jimin was tired of living the same old life with the same old routine. It was not only the tiredness that affected him but also sadness that struck a chord. He had been staring at his phone for about ten minutes now.

Waiting. Hoping.

His phone lit up with a notification and his eyes shined with a new sort of brightness. The shine left his eyes as fast as it came, He stared at the unwanted 20% discount he was getting on useless stuff.

The occasional murmur of the other students vibrated in the cafeteria but he shut off the sound focusing on the book in his hands and the phone that was placed on the table beside his now empty coffee cup.

His eyes tried to hide the disappointment when he noticed the time, Two in the afternoon yet nothing. No text, No call, No wishes for his birthday from anyone.

It hurt but he tried to act like it didn't, It was not the end of the world was it? He didn't have many friends and the few people he talked to only wanted to use him up to write their assignments or help them cheat in exams.

His parents were barely around and the only time he talked to them was when they wanted to discuss his grades and results. They were never satisfied and their words pricked like a needle to Jimin's heart.

Yet somewhere in the corner of his heart, He hoped someone did care. Was he too naive to want to celebrate his birthday? Not in a fancy way but in the company of his loved ones.

He heard the commotion taking place in the far end of the cafeteria and looked up. Jeon Jungkook, The baddest bully in history, had punched some dude he didn't know. Jimin heaved a sigh and just stood up and walked away.

The most natural thing here was fights and bullying and from some really good luck, Jimin had never been a part of any of those. He had always thought he would be the next target because he was a nerd but the other bullies never approached him.

The hallways were almost completely quiet, The sound of his footsteps was the only source of sound. Everyone was in the cafeteria probably cheering for Jeon like they always do.

He climbed up the stairs towards the rooftop where he found solace and peace. He stood by the railing, Staring the city laid out in front of him. So beautiful. The wind brushed against his cheeks and the sun hid behind the clouds.

It's ok

It's ok if they don't remember

It's ok Jimin

You don't need anyone to remember

Birthdays aren't important anyways

They come every year

Every year

Every year it's the same

Jimin stared at the sky and tried to blink away the tears. He didn't want to cry, He tried to explain it to himself. Tried to ignore the ache in his heart. Tried to stop the tears from cascading down his cheeks.

"What are you doing here?" Jimin's blood ran cold as he freezed for a minor second to keep a check on his emotions before turning around to face the new company he was surrounded with.

"Oh uhm I am sorry Jungkook-shi, I will leave immediately" Jimin knew better than to get into stupid fights with a certain Jeon. Everyone in the area was aware that when Jungkook was at the rooftop you had to stay far away.
