"Okay, so let me get this straight, even though there isn't anything straight about this situation at ALL-"

"Janis, can you just get to the point!" Shushes can be heard around the two as Cady yells at the short girl. Janis wanted to talk to Cady during lunch and of course instead of texting her Janis had to slip an ominous note in her locker.

("Meet me in the library at lunch, furthest table to the right of the U.S. History section. Dont bring anyone. Signed, J-meister")

"Okay, whatever. So you have been tutoring Regina for a little over a week now, she asks you on a date, you say yes, you invite her to our lunch table, and now what? All the events of last year are just discarded and we're supposed to be buddy buddies with her tomorrow?"

Cady sighs," I know how it sounds, but please you have to trust me that she has completely changed now."

"How am I supposed to trust that? She stopped talking to us after she healed. I thought we were all cool until she just cut contact with us. With you. How am I supposed to forgive her for doing that?"

"Listen, it might have been a personal thing, you can't blame her for that,"

"Yes you can, we have nothing to do with whatever her personal struggles were. The least she could've done is tell us she needed space or she needed someone because we would have been there for her." Cady stops. She can't think of any retaliation because Janis is right. They would have been there for her. But Regina just had to leave on her own. Had to ghost every single one of them. Had to get new friends that she probably doesn't even like. But a question still dangles in front of her.

"But why didn't she? It makes no sense, right! So that's why I'm inviting her. Maybe she'll be more open to talking about it if we all just be friends again."

Janis just sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose," Okay, y'know what, fine. I'm not gonna push on this subject anymore cause our friends are probably waiting for us."

Cady nods but then her face suddenly beams up," Aww, you said our friends!"

"Yes, of course I did, what else would I call them?"

"I don't know, I'm just really happy that you're able to bring them in your circle like that." Cady gives Janis an unwarranted hug. The shorter girl just rolls her eyes and pats the girls back.

"Yeah yeah, whatever. This doesn't mean Regina will get the same treatment though." She gets out of Cady's grip and picks up her bag.

"Not yet, Janis, but she will be."

The first thing that they did, or in this case Janis did, was tell everyone that Cady was going on a date with Regina.

"Honey, what?!"

"Cady are you serious??"

"No no, that's red bad no-no wanna"

"What? C'mon guys it's not going to be THAT bad."

Every just looks at each other and then back at Cady. She felt a little off. If you asked her she'll tell you that she didn't know what it was in the moment, but she just felt uncomfortable. Like she was being watched. But she decided to just shake it off and defend herself.
