Loanne

Everywhere in the house was filled with brown boxes. Different sizes due to what was inside of each box. I stood in the middle of the house and stared around.

It was much different than usual. More dark than bright and for that, I knew it was because of the moods everyone was releasing into the air.

Xavier, Jayden, Lily and some of his pack mates were here to help me pack up Promise's belongings. Half of these stuff were going to be donated to a charity that Promise loves. While some of the others, I will keep it. For sure I knew that the others were going to keep some of the stuff and I didn't mind.

"Who knew you stored so much stuff Promise." I said jokingly before I resumed back to taping some of the boxes shut.

While I was to focused in my work, I did not hear the tiny pattering of footsteps running past me, heading towards the spare bedroom.

"Nathan! Honey where are you!" Lily's voice suddenly yelled out. I snapped my head up in time to see her running down the stairs. Frantically searching for her son.

"Nathan?" She screamed out once more. I winched at the sound of her voice bouncing off the empty walls.

"What's wrong?" I asked her as I sat perfectly still watching her carefully.

"I can't find Nathan. He was with me one moment then he just disappeared!" She exclaimed to me as she walked around the place.

"I did notice someone running over there." I said as I stood up and walked over to where I had a feeling Nathan was at.

But Lily stopped me in my tracks and I turned my head to question her what was the problem when she suddenly motioned for me to be quiet. Confused I did as I was told and tried to hear what she was hearing.

"Why don't you come out and play with me? Do you not want to play with me anymore? Was I a bad boy?" Nathan's tiny voice spoke.

My eyebrows shot up towards the ceiling. Who in the world was he talking too? I looked at Lily to see that she was equally as confused and worried.

We moved slowly towards the room that he was in and we continued to hear his conversation. "Okay, I will promise you that I will be a good boy. Will that make mommy and daddy not cry anymore?" Nathan questioned.

That was when Lily had enough I guess. She ran past me and barged into the room. Slamming the door hard and loud. I jumped back in shock from the sound and casually made my way into the room to see that there was no one in here. It was just Nathan, Lily and I.

The closet door was open and there was no sign that someone was in here with him. Turning my attention back to Nathan I felt extremely bad when I watched Lily scold him.

"Nathan now tell me... Who were you talking too?" Lily demanded from him as she sat down in front of him.

He stared at Lily then at me before looking at the ground. "Tell me now young man!" Lily said. I could see Nathan slightly shake from his mother's questioning tone, so I decided to speak up in hopes that it might calm him down to the point where he could tell us.

"Dear.. you are not in trouble. We just want to know who you were talking too in here. We heard your conversation in the hallway." I asked softly as I made my way slowly over to him.

He looked up at me and slightly opened his mouth. "Promise?" He said quietly, pointing out his pinky finger.

I smiled and nodded my head as I wrapped my own pinky finger around his. "I promise, so please tell your mom and I." I said before making myself comfortable in the floor.
