Let's Clean the Mess
The dorm was unusually quiet for a Saturday night. After a long week packed with performances, interviews, and practice sessions, the boys were finally enjoying some well-deserved downtime. Namjoon sat at the dining table, engrossed in a thick book, oblivious to the chaos that surrounded him. Papers were strewn everywhere, half-empty cups cluttered the surface, and an array of gadgets and notebooks created a disorganized mess.
Jin, passing by on his way to the kitchen, stopped in his tracks. He surveyed the scene with a look of exasperation. "Namjoon-ah, seriously?" he sighed, placing his hands on his hips. "Can't you keep your workspace clean for once? This is getting out of hand."
Namjoon looked up from his book, a sheepish smile spreading across his face. "I'll clean it up later, hyung. I promise."
Jin rolled his eyes and walked away, muttering something about hopelessness. Moments later, Suga entered the scene, his eyebrows knitting together as he surveyed the chaos.
"Namjoon, you're a leader, not a hurricane," Suga remarked dryly, his voice carrying a hint of amused annoyance. "How can you work in this mess?"
"I'm fine, Yoongi-hyung," Namjoon replied, a hint of exasperation creeping into his voice. "I'll get to it."
As the evening progressed, the nagging continued. J-Hope, ever the energetic one, joined in. "Namjoon-ah! You're setting a bad example for the maknaes. Clean up your act!"
"Okay, okay, I get it!" Namjoon finally snapped, throwing his hands up in surrender. "I'll clean up."
Sulking, he picked up his book and headed to his room, leaving the mess behind. The dorm settled into an uneasy silence, each member retreating to their own activities, but the nagging words lingered in Namjoon's mind.
Later that night, unable to sleep and still stewing from the day's relentless criticisms, Namjoon lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. Their words echoed in his head, making it impossible to find peace. He glanced at the clock; it read a little past midnight. Frustrated and determined to prove a point, he decided to take matters into his own hands. If they wanted him to clean, he would clean. Glancing at the clock, which read a little past midnight, he knew it was a ridiculous time for chores. But a stubborn part of him didn't care.
Grabbing the vacuum cleaner from the closet, he began his crusade against the dust and debris. The noise echoed through the dorm, jarring the peaceful silence. One by one, the members emerged from their rooms, bleary-eyed and confused.
"What on earth are you doing?" Jin yelled over the roar of the vacuum, his usually composed face contorted in irritation.
Namjoon paused, sweat dripping from his forehead, and looked at them defiantly. "You all wanted me to clean, so I'm cleaning!"
Suga rubbed his temples, trying to suppress his irritation. "Namjoon, there's a time and place for everything. Midnight is not the time."
J-Hope, half-asleep, managed a tired chuckle. "You could have waited till morning, you know."
Realizing the absurdity of the situation, Namjoon let out a heavy sigh and switched off the vacuum. The dorm fell silent once more, and the members exchanged knowing glances.
"Alright, alright. I'm sorry," Namjoon said, his voice softening. "I'll clean up properly tomorrow, at a reasonable hour."
Jin stepped forward, placing a reassuring hand on Namjoon's shoulder. "We just want you to take care of yourself and our space, okay?"
"Yeah," Suga added, his tone gentler. "No one's perfect, not even our genius leader."
Namjoon nodded, feeling a bit more understood. The group dispersed, and as they headed back to their rooms, J-Hope threw an arm around Namjoon's shoulders.
"Let's tackle it together in the morning, Namjoon-ah," he said with a grin. "We'll make it fun."
Namjoon couldn't help but smile. "Deal."
The next morning, true to their word, the boys gathered in the living room after breakfast, ready to turn the cleaning session into a team effort. Jungkook brought out a speaker and started blasting their favorite songs, transforming the mundane chore into a lively dance party. Jin took charge of the kitchen, Suga organized the living room, and Namjoon, with renewed determination, tackled the mess he had left behind the previous night.
As they worked, laughter and camaraderie filled the air. Jin and J-Hope playfully bickered over the best way to stack dishes, while Suga occasionally threw in a sarcastic comment that left everyone in stitches. Even Namjoon found himself enjoying the process, his earlier frustration melting away in the warmth of their shared effort.
"See, this isn't so bad," J-Hope said, wiping sweat from his forehead as he surveyed their progress. "Teamwork makes everything easier."
Namjoon nodded, feeling a sense of accomplishment as he placed the last book neatly on the shelf. "You're right. I should've just asked for help instead of trying to do everything on my own."
Jin clapped a hand on Namjoon's back. "That's what we're here for, Joonie. We're a team, remember?"
Suga, lounging on the newly cleaned couch, smirked. "And maybe next time, try not to vacuum at midnight. It's not good for anyone's sanity."
They all laughed, the tension from the previous night dissipating completely. Namjoon looked around at his members, feeling a deep sense of gratitude. They had their quirks and disagreements, but at the end of the day, they were family. And family looked out for each other, even when it meant a bit of tough love.
As the afternoon sun streamed through the windows, bathing the dorm in a warm glow, Namjoon felt a renewed sense of purpose. He was lucky to have such supportive and understanding members by his side. They might nag him, but it came from a place of care and concern.
The rest of the day was spent in relaxed companionship. They played games, watched movies, and cooked a big dinner together. The dorm, now spotless and organized, felt more like home than ever.
Later that night, as Namjoon lay in bed, he reflected on the day's events. He realized that the nagging, while annoying at times, was a reminder of the bond they shared. It pushed him to be better, not just for himself, but for the team.
With a contented sigh, Namjoon closed his eyes, ready to face whatever challenges the future held. As long as they had each other, he knew they could overcome anything—even a midnight cleaning spree.
