Seonghwa burst through the doors, chest heaving and eyes frantically scanning the room, though the only people he could see there were just San, Mingi, and Yunho. "Have you seen Hongjoong?" He hastily asked, but he only received three shakes of heads from the three of them. "Dammit." He had already crossed paths with Jongho and Yeosang and the two had no idea where the other was, and Seonghwa's nerves were close to bursting.

But let's rewind for a second shall we?

After they had gotten together Seonghwa's and Hongjoong's feelings for each other had done nothing but grow, and they were happier than ever. Hongjoong would perform in bars and clubs while Seonghwa had kept working for the little bakery, and they created a routine. Sometimes Hongjoong would take Seonghwa out for dinner, and sometimes it was Seonghwa the one to do that.

For their first year anniversary Seonghwa hadn't expected nothing really big, it were the little things that mattered after all, but Hongjoong had decided to write a song for him and had performed it on stage, calling him up and pulling him in for a kiss in front of the whole bar (and despite his complaints, Seonghwa had loved it), and for their second year anniversary they had gone on vacation together in some beach house (they had to thank Yeosang for that). Again, Seonghwa hadn't expected nothing completely out of the ordinary, but then one evening, as the sun was setting above the water and the sky was being painted in each and every different color, Hongjoong had dropped down on one knee, and between kisses and tears, Seonghwa had said yes.

Months of preparations had followed and all of their friends had been nothing but supportive, helping them wherever they could, and now they were back in that same beach house, ready and excited to finally get married.

At least, Seonghwa was, but Hongjoong had decided to disappear without telling anything to anyone and now Seonghwa was frantically looking for him everywhere. Admittedly, he could have done this earlier - he really just needed to ask Hongjoong something - but he had been too nervous to bring the matter up earlier so now he was basically freaking out just hours before the ceremony when he should have been getting ready himself.

Because, you see, Woyoung had been the one to bring him to choose the suit he would be wearing - he and Hongjoong had decided to go for the normal black and white, where Hongjoong would wear the black and Seonghwa would wear the white - but instead of a suit, as soon as they had entered the store, Seonghwa had immediately fallen in love with a dress. And he hadn't told Hongjoong. And now he was scared to the bone about the reaction he would receive at the altar. So his intention was to find Hongjoong, tell him, and see the reaction to know if he'd have to cry before Wooyoung applied his makeup, but for the life of him, he couldn't find him.

Speak of the devil - right after Seonghwa closed the door to resume his search, the younger came silently up behind him, and Seonghwa jerked back so quickly that he would have probably hit his head somewhere if Wooyoung hadn't grabbed him by the arm to yank him back upright. With a bit of a struggle he found his balance, looking up to meet the other's eyes with his own slightly blurry ones (courtesy of anxiety).

"Hey Hwa," Wooyoung started, and Seonghwa recognized the softness in his voice. He knows his bestfriend had probably picked up on his anxiety, and the fact that he hadn't been able to find Hongjoong, just by his appearance alone, and he was so fucking grateful of the younger's ability to read him in this moment. "We really need to get you ready," he kept going, "we won't be able to finish up in time for the ceremony otherwise." And he looked immensely apologetic as he stared into Seonghwa's eyes that the older couldn't help but weakly nod, hoping for the best to come even if didn't know what Hongjoong would think about it all.

Wooyoung did not say anything else, just gently taking Seonghwa's hand and guiding him into the room they had set up for him to get ready, and the dress was already there waiting for him.
