You've been trying to stay in shape a lot more lately, eating healthy foods and going to the gym frequently. It's not that you're fat or anything, just that you decided you wanted to start being healthier.

One morning, you were doing your usual early morning run around the neighborhood, the sun not yet risen as dusk begins to lighten the slightest bit. You go jogging past a house on a street not too far from your house, accidentally noticing a brunette boy sitting there alone on the front porch.

You were too focused on your pace to say hi or anything, and he didn't seem to notice you, so you just continue on down the street until you make it home.

Later that night, you lay awake in bed, exhausted from your long day. You wanted to just fall asleep, but you couldn't stop seeing the boy on the porch, sitting all alone. You wondered if he was thinking about you too, even though he didn't seem to notice you.

You decided that if you see him tomorrow on your run, you'll definitely make sure to wave. You didn't know why it was so important that you get to know this boy, but there was something about his stillness on the bottom steps of the porch that seemed mysterious enough to lure you in.

So the next day, after all the anticipation of passing houses that weren't his, you finally make it to his street. You didn't even know his name, but you had literally become obsessed with him overnight.

You were relieved to see him there again, sitting alone on the concrete steps of his roofed porch. He was reading something, which was hard to make out in the darkness of the early morning, but since he had his porch light on, it was a lot easier for you.

He must've got that sudden feeling he was being watched, or maybe just all together felt your presence from the sidewalk, but either way, his eyes slowly raise to meet yours.

You have a quick panic attack at that moment, wondering if you should say hello or just make a run for it. You promised yourself you would wave, so you wave, nervously.

You smile upon realizing that he waved right back, a small grin spreading across his face. Even from this distance, you could tell he had brown eyes.

You find it difficult to turn away from his captivating gaze, but somehow manage, and continue on down the sidewalk, feeling numb and shaky. Up until that point, you didn't think you believed in love at first sight.

You thought about the boy again that night, and the next morning saw him again, sitting in his usual spot. You wave, and he waves, and you continue on. The same thing happened the next morning, and repeated in a cycle for the next few weeks.

A few times you would see him kind of open his mouth to say something, like he was going to greet you or call out your name, not like he knew what it was. But then he would close it slowly, like he couldn't get his mouth to say the words that he really wanted to say to you. And you would pass his house and turn the corner, knowing you wouldn't see him again until the next morning.

One night you had a dream that you were taking a walk alone on the beach, along the ocean side. It was kind of a windy afternoon, but the sun was still shining down its warm rays.

Out of the corner of your eye you see a tall, lean figure running towards you, and you quickly turn to see who it was.

It was him.

"Y/N," he whispers softly, close enough for his raspy voice to be audible.

You look down at the sand, smiling. "You know my name?"

He grins and steps a little closer to you, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear.

"Of course," he laughs, cupping your chin and tilting your head up so your eyes meet again. He had really gorgeous eyes, two deep wells of unfathomable mystery staring back at you.

"It's so great to finally see you anywhere but my view from the sidewalk across your lawn," you admit, noticing that you had never been as close to him as you are now. You liked his presence though, it gave you a sense of protection and safety.

"I can definitely agree to that," he nods, laughing. "But I can't say there weren't so many times when I wanted to tell you just how beautiful you looked from where I was seated."

You bite your lip, unable to unlock your gaze. "Do you want to take a walk with me?" you ask.

He turns his head, leaning in to softly press his lips to your cheek, while his strong hands wrest at your elbows.

"I'd love to," he says upon pulling away, returning your smile.

So you spend your time talking and laughing together, just walking along the shore with your hands gently intertwined. It felt nice to finally be intimate with him after going so long without even saying hello.

You find a shady spot under a tree with a bench, and you ease into it with the boy sitting down beside you.

"You know," you start. "For as long as I've seen your face, I never really knew what your name was. But somehow you knew mine?"

He chuckles, leaning against the bench.

"You want to know my name, sweetie?"

You giggle. "Yes, I do!"

"Guess," he cracks a grin.

Just as you were about to say something, you feel yourself slip into a new state of mind, and before you knew it, you were lying in bed again.

It took you a while to realize that it was all a dream, and you never walked with him by the ocean side. The fact that it didn't happen only made you wish that it did, and you knew that it wouldn't if you didn't speak up soon.

You were positively craving him and he didn't even know it. But you hoped he was craving you too, and not just in his dreams, or visions, or imagination.

You hoped that he was thinking about what you could be.
