Chapter 4: Don't Fail Me

Hunter pov:

I woke up to the sun shining in my face, I slowly opened my eyes to be met with flap jack still asleep on my stomach, the rain has stopped, it was calm, I slowly grabbed flap jack and set him down on a rock and slowly got up, I was still in pain from the acid rain and from my fall, but I had to make my way to the castle, uncle probably already super pissed that im already late,

I woke flap jack up and turn him into his staff form, I started making my way out the cave, to be met with the bright sky, birds chirping, the wind blowing, I continued walking untill I found a clearing, I got on flap jack and made my way to the castle.

As I flew to the castle, I was mentally getting ready for the punishment I would probably be going through when I got to the castle, a few minutes of flying and I could finally see the Castel in view I flew to my window, entering it and turning flap jack back into his bird form,

" Okey flap jack, I'm gonna need you to stay here while I go talk to belos,"

" Chirp, chirpp, chirpp"

" I be alright. Besides, it's nothing iv already gone through," I told flap jack as I put my uniform on, preparing for the day. As I said my goodbyes to flap Jack, I made my way to the throne room,

I got to the throne room, knocked on the door, waiting to be given permission to enter,

" You may enter," I hear Belo say eriely, I entered the throne room, kneeling infront of him, looking at the floor and nothing else, " hunter, where have you been, I've sent scouts out to look for you and they couldn't find you... EXPLAIN" belos screamed, slamming his hand down,

" I apologize, emperor, while I was on my break, I was on a walk, it's started raining, and I couldn't make it back to the castle on time" I calmly said, making sure not to show the fear on my face,
" mhmmm, excuses, come here, hunter," belos said, calmly, emotionless, I stood up and walked closer to him. Before I knew it, we were five inches away from each other,

" Raise your arm, and pull your sleeves up" he demanded, I did what he asked, knowing he was about to cut me, he stood up, and his arm turned into a sharp form, sharp enough to cut steel, he swung his arm, hitting my arm on impact, he did that 5 more times before stopping, he sat back down, and stared at me, " this is your punishment for not showing up on time, don't let it happen again, he said,

" Yes, uncle," I said, bearing the pain in my left arm. Blood was leaking from the cuts he caused,

" You have a mission tomorrow night. you will be going to the school and steal the palismen that the school will give to their students the next day, I expect you to complete this mission... and hunter, don't disappoint me, your dismissed" uncle says while waving me off, I quickly left, going back to my room, I entered my room and immediately took the mask off, and quickly went to go find the bandages uncle gave me for after my punishments, I quickly wrap my arm, it took all my strength to not cry, crying is forbidden and if your ever caught, well you would get punished,

After wrapping my arm up, I started planning for my mission, I must think of a full proof plan to steal the palismen, I can't disappoint my uncle, not again.

As I spent all day, and night thinking, reading, and studying the school, I finally came up with a master proof plan that's sure to work, as I Patiently waited for the go from belos, I layed in bed, studying flap jack, as I watched flap jack and read I finally heard a knock on my door, I quickly put my mask on and went to go answer it,

" Hello, golden guard, we got your blimp all set and ready. Emperor belos has given you the go-to start your mission," the scout told me,

" thank you Steve, you are dismissed" Steve nodded his head and left, I closed my door and got my stuff ready, I fed flap jack and gave him a kiss, telling him goodnight and that I see him in the morning, as I got all ready and set I made my way to the landing docks and got onto my blimp, I got everything set and I was off.

After hunting, palismen:

As I made my way back to the castle, there was only one thing on my mind, I failed, and I failed to get the palismen, and to top it off, Kikimora is trying to kill me.

As I walked back to the castle, all I felt was fear, fear of the punishment I would have to have, but also I felt like a failure for not getting the palismen for uncle, I failed him, if only he would let me try wild magic I could help him, but no, he said it's the root of all evil, but I don't see it as that, but what do I know, im stupid, a failure, can't do nothing right,

I made it back to the castle and made my way Inside, the sun was still rising but it was still dark outside, as I was walking through the hallway I passed Kikimora, " looked like you had a rough night hehe" I said to her, she just gave me a look and walked away, not saying anything,

A scout came up to me, bowed his head, and then spoke,
" Golden guard, the emperor wishes for your presence at once." I nodded my head and followed him to the throne room. The door was already open, so we entered and kneeled,

" Thank you, Scout, you may leave, and close the door behind you." The scout left the second he was told to, now it was just him and I,

Uncle did nothing but stared at me before yelling,

" EXPLAIN!" he yelled, " i-i apologize uncle, I was attacked and an-" I was interrupted when he got up, and struck me,

He cut my chest and my face at the same time, I was thrown on my back, stunned about what just happened,  but said nothing, " ENOUGH WITH THE EXCUSES, you must be punished hunter, stand, and don't make me ask again,"
I shackenly got up, afraid of what he was about do to me.

Abuse warning:

Belos raised his now monster arm and hit me, my whole side of my body hurt, but if I shed one tear or move, I knew he would hit me harder, he raised his arm again and struck me again, this time in the face he sent me flying, causing me to fall on the ground hitting my head on the ground, I couldn't help it anymore, tears started flowing, my blood started flowing faster, staining the floor with my blood,

" hunter, are you crying, if you can't even take a beating from me, then how can I call you the golden guard, you, STRUCK, are, STRUCK, such, STRUCK, a, STRUCK, failure," my whole body was bleeding, he had beatened me Half to death before he stopped,

" GET OUT OF MY SIGHT" he screamed, I got up slowly and made my way out, not before falling down a few time, when I got out, no one was around, well what I could see at that moment, I could only see from my left eye, I slowly made my way to my room, falling for the majority of the walk, it took me 5 minutes for me to get to my room, when I got there, I shackenly opened the door and entered, I almost got to my bed before falling for my final time, I was exhausted, I couldn't see, or breath, flap jack was chirping like crazy but I couldn't talk, I closed my eyes thinking this would be the last time opening them, im sorry.

Darius pov:

" I don't know how much longer I can take this," I told raine. This is draining me, " Yes Darius I know, but it's for the better good, we must," me and rain were walking down a hallway, speaking of the news and such, we continued walking till raine stopped,

" Darius, do you hear that? It sounds like a bird,"

" A bird?' I asked raine,

" yea, it sounds like it's inside and close," Raine said. It took me a second to hear the chirping, and it was actually coming from hunters hallway,

" Follow me raine," I told raine, we continued walking, turning to another hallway to be met with a door that was open. It was hunter's room,

" Darius, isn't that hunter's room?" Raine asked, I turned to him and nodded we walked closer to the noise, we entered the room to be met a bird flying around hunter, he was on the ground bleeding crazy, rain ran to him and checked for a pulse,

" DARIUS, his pulse is weak." I froze, not knowing what to do,
" The healers can't fix this type of damage, raine, what do we do?"

I asked raine, I was freaking out, I didn't know how to save him,

" i-i think I know who can help, but we have to leave NOW!"

I shook my head and picked Hunter up, and followed him. we quickly left and ran to a place I didn't know.....
