Chapter 8: what happens now

Luz pov:

" All right, I made a call to Darius about the situation. He'll be here soon, but for now, it's dinner time, luz, king come" eda told us, I didn't want to leave his side, but my stomach told me otherwise, curse you hunger,

I grabbed king and we made our way to the dinner table, I sat king down and went to go get owl Bert and flap Jack's food ready, eda always says that, that's one of the things I have to do everyday, one of my chores, I quickly fed owl Bert before leaving to go fetch flap jack so he can eat, as I walked through the living room, I quickly checked on hunter to see if he was up, he wasn't, he looks so lost, it saddens me just knowing hunter going through all of this, I quickly move some of his hair off his face before leaving, going upstairs and getting flap jack,

When I entered my room, flap jack was exploring his new surroundings, pecking at stuff and doing what birds do,

" hey flap jack you hungry" I asked the red little bird, he turned around and immediately flew to me, landing on my shoulder, chirping like crazy, I wished I knew what he was saying, would be super helpful, while he was on my shoulder we made our way back downstairs, I could already smell the food were about to eat, as I got to the last step, flap jack took off flying, flying twords Hunter and layed on him, awww little fella must miss him, I approached them and took flap jack back and made our way to the kitchen, setting him down next to owl Bert and feeding them, I finally sat down and started eating, didn't realize how hungry I was.

As we all ate our food, Eda cleared her throat before talking, " So luz, you said you've gotten more information out of the boy about what happened, care to tell me," Eda asked, I immediately stopped eating, and looked at her, " Sooooooo, he basically told me that. Belos would punish him whenever he failed a mission. This time, he went to fair, but hunter still thinks it's his fault, and he's still dead seant onto going back to the emperor coven once he heals,"

everyone was quiet, no one spoke, they were all speechless until Eda stood up and spoke "All right, let's keep this to our selves for now, thank you, luz, for telling me, I make sure to tell Darius this, he's gonna flip when he hears this" eda said as she grabbed a cup of apple blood, we all continued to eat in silence until we were interrupted when we heard the door knock.

" Oh, that must be Darius, you two finish up, annnd, clean the dishes, I be back shortly," Eda said, getting up and walking to the door, " hey luz" I looked down at king, " yea buddy" I asked, " is that kid, ummm hunter, is he gonna be alright" king asked, wanting to know,
"I hope so. Let's not worry about that and start on the dishes," I told him, grabbing his dish. He let out a quiet wine before climbing down and helping me with the dishes.

Eda pov:

I walked through the living room and opened the door, Darius was waiting there, looking exhausted as ever,

" hello eda, how's hunter's condition, is he alright" Darius asked, I moved aside so he may enter, we walked to the living room and sat down, " he was up, he really wanted to see you but he passed out, but Darius there bigger matters we need to speak of" I informed him,

" okey spit it out," Darius says, too inpatient to wait, " belos did this to him," I said, pointing to the boy, Darius got up,
" wa- wait, belos did THIS!" He yelled, I stood up, trying to calm him down, but to no avail,

" Look, Darius, calm down, we have t-"

" WHAT, WHAT WE MUST DO IS GO DOWN THERE AND KILL HIM RIGHT NOW, THAT WHAT WE MUST DO, KILL THE BASTERED WHO DID THIS"

Darius was in my face now, and I was getting really sick of his screaming, I was about to yell back before a certain blond boy woke up, Hunter, good timing.

" da- Darius," hunter said. His voice was raspy, bearly able to hear him, Darius calmed down after seeing him,
" Little prince, how are you feeling?" Darius asked,
" Better, I guess, Darius. Did you tell them I was staying here?" Hunter asked,

" Yes, little prince, it's no longer safe for you there, away from belos, but soon, I will take you somewhere far away from here, but till then you must stay here" Darius told the kid, sitting down next to him, after a minute, hunter spoke.

" How did he take my disaperionce."

" he made a search party for you, but no luck, they don't know what happened to you and were gonna keep it like that."

" I can not stay here any longer, I must go back to the castle and help on the search party. You behave, little prince,"

" Okey Darius, I will, if I must," Darius gave Hunter a pat on the head before I walked him out,  I said my goodbyes to Darius as well, and he left,

I came back to the living room to see the kid sitting there,
" hey kid, you hungrey" I asked the boy, he looked up looking like he didn't know the answer to that question so I just answered it for him, I made my way to the kitchen to be met with king and luz finishing with the dishes, " key eda, what was all that yelling?" Luz asked. As I was grabbing a platfull of food, I answered her,

" oh just Darius, hunters up now but, give him some space, been a rough day for the kid" I told her, she gave me a head nodde and I made my way back to the living room back to where hunter was, and gave him a plate full of food, I was walking to my room before I heard hunter speak, " th- thanks owl lady"

" You can call me eda kid." That's all I said before going to my room to start getting ready for sleep. It's been a rough day.
