The tip of the blade was pointed at his chest still and even though her grip on the sword loosened, she didn't let her guards down.

"your majesty we've emerged victorious-"...Aksh stopped abruptly once he saw the scene infront of him.

His steps came to a halt and his eyes widened. He was here to convey the news of their victory, but he saw the king himself at his feet with a sword pointed at him.

" not yet" ......Agastya said briefly as his eyes never left the woman infront of him.

From a sense of duty, Aksh was obliged to slash down anyone who even thought of harming his king. but, did it apply here? should he point a sword at the woman he knows will be his queen later?

His steps fumbled and he looked at Ruh. His eyes conveyed a lot of emotions and all of them were indeed decoded precisely by her.

Ruh pov;

My hands trembled but I didn't let go of the sword. Infront of me, my doom kept idiotically smiling at me. It ridiculed me how he didn't even try to defend himself. I could just kill him now and he didn't even care.

I looked infront to see Aksh and his eyes held me in an arrest, registering me guilty of a crime I didn't know I did.

don't do it

his eyes screamed at me from across the place. This was not just it. I felt two other pairs of eyes on me from behind. One from just behind me, the man I was defending.

The other pair looking at me from across the place behind me. she pleaded me to save her son, what was I supposed to do now? kill a man who didn't even defend himself from me for another man who degraded me just moments ago?

I was tied with invisible ropes from all around. For anyone seeing from outside, it would seem like the sword was in my hands and the result of this war too. That was wrong.

My hands were tied, with not one but numerous ropes.

The tears I had been holding in finally broke the barrier of my eyes and flooded out.

I couldn't do this.
......

I loved the man infront of me. I know I did.

I dropped the sword and the metal hitting the ground rang in my ears. I didn't know what to do. I was helpless.

My legs gave up and I fell down on my knees infront of him, sobbing uncontrollably.

" क्या करे हम अब? बताइए हमे क्या करे हम? कहिका नहीं छोड़ा हमे आपने. अब कहा जाए हम? किसके पास आश्रय लें? कौन स्वीकार करेगा अब हमे?" ....I screamed at his face, and my tears never stopped.

I felt him collecting me into his arms and I melted in. I felt him stroking my hair.

I felt the ground shift beneath me, and tried to look but I felt him hold me tighter, not letting me turn back.

The sky was overcast and now the sound of thunder rumbling didn't help it either. I felt a few raindrops falling on my hair.

The ground soon started to get wet and I looked up at his face to see the blood from his wounds being washed away, but he was looking behind me.

I turned my head slightly, and through my peripheral vision I saw the queen running towards aadhrit.

She hugged her as if he was going to slip away. Indeed, she saw her son come back from the edge that marked the boundary between life and death. Her feelings were pouring in unfiltered, and even tho the rain concealed it all well, i knew she was crying at that moment.
