Chapter 57: I'm Giving Up

Scarlette's POV

*One Month Later*

"Well, I'm headed out." Andy said, his suitcase by the door.

"Okay." I said, walking up to him and hugging him. "I hate that your last show of the tour is LA." I sighed.

"I know, but sometimes it works out like that. At least I don't have to fly back."

"Yeah, but it's going to be so long before I see you again."

"You and Kaylee could always fly out for our Cincinnati show, give my parents a chance to see you girls." Andy suggested.

"Flying with a two year old sounds miserable." I laughed.

"Your parents could watch Kaylee and just you could come out."

"I'd have to take off work."

"Yeah." He sighed, an annoyed look on his face.

"Kaylee! Daddy's leaving!" I called from where she was playing in the living room. She toddled into the room, holding out her arms to Andy. He squatted down and picked her up, swinging her around, making her giggle. He kissed her forehead and then put her back down, bending to her level.

"I'm going to miss you so much my sweet girl, I'll see you when I get home."

"Bye-bye daddy!" She said, waving at him, causing him to laugh. He stood back up and opened the door. I saw CC's car was sitting on the curb.

"CC's taking you to the airport?" I asked.

"Well, since I won't be flying home, there's no need for me to park my car at the airport. I needed someone to take me." He shrugged.

"That felt like a dig." I muttered.

"Well." He sighed, trailing off. "I love you."

"I love you too." I said, giving him one more hug and kiss before he left the house. I closed the front door and sighed. I walked to the kitchen and poured myself a glass of wine. I took a sip and a smile spread across my face as I felt the alcohol course through my body.

Andy's POV

I groaned as I climbed into CC's backseat.

"Everything okay?" CC questioned as his wife, Alex, pulled away from the curb.

"Yeah." I said, not wanting to complain in front of Alex. "Thanks for the ride."

"Of course." Alex said with a smile. I stayed quiet for the rest of the ride to the airport, looking out of the window. When Alex pulled up to the curb at the airport, I quickly got out.

"I'll get the suitcases." I said, closing the door and going to the trunk. I pulled out both mine and CC's suitcases and placed them on the sidewalk while CC said goodbye to Alex. She got back in the car and CC walked over to me. He grabbed his bag and we walked in. We checked our bags, went through security, and sat down at our gate.

"Alright, so what's going on?" CC questioned.

"You would think after almost 4 years, Scarlette would stop complaining so damn much about my job." I said.

"You almost seem to start every tour pissed off at her."

"Pretty much." I sighed. "She complained that we aren't coming to LA until the end of tour. I suggested she bring Kaylee to Cincinnati but of course, that idea was fucking ridiculous. When I suggest she come on her own, of course, work is more important." I groaned.

"I'm sorry Andy." CC said.

"I just want things to be easy."

"Well, sorry Andy, but you didn't pick an easy wife." He laughed.

"Yeah, I know." I said, shaking my head. "I'll be fine." I said, standing up. "I'm going to go take a walk." I said, beginning to walk down the concourse.
