"You know at first I was mad you called me at 3 am for this, but after all that tea, I'm very glad," Camille said.

"Yeah, I was starting to feel out of the loop," Danny chimes in. "And I am the fucking loop."

I laugh. I tried calling Aolani first, my so-called best friend, but she didn't answer the phone. I left her a thirty-minute voicemail and called Camille and Danny on Facetime.

"I thought that I wouldn't be able to crawl out of the hole of darkness, but when I got the confirmation from Santiago that he loves me and wants to be with me. That's all I needed," I gush.

Danny gags. "I'm happy for you, but I can't take all this lovey-dovey shit. I can't even picture Santiago domesticated."

"Jee, thanks."

"Well, I'm happy for you," Camille cuts in. "And I also have news to share of my own."

I settled into the tub of the hotel bathroom. "Well, hurry up and spill."

"Candance kissed me yesterday," she says and Danny gasps.

"I know I walked in on something steamy in the conference room. You dirty little lesbian bitches lied to me," he says. "Oh, we were just comparing notes my ass."

"Okay, but how did you actually believe the line of comparing notes?" I snort.

"Excuse me for not thinking my friends were liars," he retorts. "It seems like everyone is getting some except me."

"Did you like the kiss, Cami?" I ask.

She stays silent for a moment before speaking up. "Yeah...believe it or not I did. Looking back, I notice the little moments of her looking at me a little too long. She asked me on a date for next Wednesday."

"Who goes on a date in the middle of the week?" Daniel questions.

"Says the one who gets no dates to begin with," I retort.

"Says the one who wasn't getting any dates until a couple of hours ago," he fires back.

"Touche."

"Isn't it like midnight over there?" Cami asks. "Why aren't you cuddled up to your man?"

"Because I had to call you guys," I explain. "I miss you so much. I didn't call anyone in my dark period."

They go silent.

"I was really upset when you ghosted after you quit, Lei Lei," Danny admits. "I was really starting to like you."

"Well, you weren't gonna get rid of me," Cami says. "I have your address. I would force myself into your life even if you wouldn't accept it."
