*excuse any mistakes 😙Christian stopped his Dodge police cruiser at the gate of the section 8 apartments in Smyrna, where he was raised.
He grabbed the duffel bag full of Christmas presents and left his car, closing the door slowly.
He grinned as he walked towards the number 5 on the first floor, knowing that was his first stop.
He unzipped the bag and pulled out a wrapped box full of hygiene products and gift cards. He knocked on the door and watched it swing open.
His elderly neighbor, Joanne stood at the door in a muumuu and glasses. She smiled widely at seeing Christian and he smiled back, holding out the present.
"Happy Christmas." He grinned as he passed it to her.
She chuckled, opening the door and Christian walked in, lowering his head as he entered. He looked around and saw that nothing had changed.
"Hey Ms. Joanne." He greeted with a smile.
"Hey baby." She replied, going into the kitchen. "How's life? How's yo kid?"
"He's coo. I got a lil girlfriend now." He told her as he sat down at the old wooden table set. He trailed a finger over the wooden marking as he waited for her to come back into the living room.
"Surely not the mother?" Joanne clarified. "That Angelina woman?"
"Huh? No not her, she's someone else." Joanne nodded her head.
"Cause ol girl was crazy." Joanne laughed and Chrisitna joined in.
"Crazy as fuck—
"Language." Joanne said sternly.
Christian rolled his eyes. "She tryn to find out where I live."
"You a lil rich now, go somewhere else."
"Yea I thought of that but I don't know if my girl gon be coo wit that."
"Just tell her about yo babymomma."
Christian hummed. Joanne came back into the living room with a mug of hot chocolate, which Christian took gratefully.
"Me and Evelyn—
"Yo girlfriend?"
"Yea." Christian nodded. "We locked in forreal, like Im gon marry this girl."
"Yea keep tha mindset. Dont let nobody's words try and get to you if you know how you feel bout this girl."
"Mhm. She be caring for Albertoe and I kno I got mad lucky wit her." Christian explained, watching Joanne peer at him through her small rim glasses.
"Like it's our kid now, that's how serious I am with her and I shelter my son, barely anybody knows about him but my family and a few other people. Nobody around him for real."
