NATHALIE RUSHED FORWARD.
Her opponent from All Star Karate jumped backwards. Nathalie began to circle around him, her gaze fixated on him intensely. He swung his leg through the air, but Nathalie swiftly bent down. His leg soared above her head, and she reached up and pulled him down to the mat. When he fell, and then flipped over to get back on his feet, Nathalie landed a jab to his chest with her fist.
"Point, Torres!"
The rest of Cobra Kai cheered for her. Nathalie could hear Marisol screaming from the bleachers. She turned to look at her sister and couldn't help but smile when she saw her clapping. Nathalie got back onto her side of the mat and prepared for the next match. She shifted from side to side, waiting for the referee to start the fight.
A mere second after she heard the word "Fight!" leave his mouth, Nathalie was sending a series of punches at her opponent. Though he was taller and proved to be rather good when it came to blocking, he lacked the speed to block the kick to the abdomen that Nathalie sent his way while he was distracted by the repetitive path of her fists. He stumbled back, and Nathalie kicked him one last time, sending him to the ground.
"Point!" the referee called out. "2-0, Torres."
"Yeah! Go, Nattie!" Sebastian cheered, clapping for his sister.
Nathalie nodded her head at him before she turned and turned to her spot. Her opponent was clutching his stomach as he watched her get into fighting position. Nathalie smirked at him. A nervous look grew on the boy's face. It was as if he knew he was done for before the referee even told them to fight.
He tried his hardest and put up a good fight, but he was no match for the short-statured girl loaded with fury. With a punch to the chest and a sweep of the leg, Natalie's arm was being lifted into the air.
"Winner, Torres!"
Nathalie had won her first match. She turned her head to look at Johnny, and he gave her a proud nod. Nathalie looked out into the audience to see Marisol standing up, clapping her hands wildly. Nathalie walked off the mat and stood next to Flora.
Flora embraced her into a tight hug, causing their cheeks to press against one another. "That's my best friend! You absolutely killed it!"
"Thanks, Florie," Natalie responded. "But, uh, could you maybe let go of me? You're kind of suffocating me."
Flora nodded, quickly letting go of her. "Right. Sorry. But you should have seen yourself!"
"Seriously," Sebastian chimed in as one of the other Cobra Kai students stepped on the mat to begin his fight. "And to think that you weren't even going to fight."
