"My dad....."

"Arnav" Aarti, Arnav's grandmother gently reached for his hand, "We are getting late beta. Why don't you thank the rockstar for the autograph?"

Arnav bobbed his head and looked at Arjun with large doe eyes. "Can i have a hug, Rockstar?"

Arjun felt a lump forming in his throat. The boy was a stranger, and yet he felt a deep connection to him. Arnav threw himself at the Rockstar. He had waited for ever to do it. Arjun held on. His heart raced in happiness. He never thought he could feel so connected to a stranger.

Arnav pulled back after a few minutes and held Arjun's hand, "Aap bohot acha gaatey ho, Rockstar. (You sing brilliantly, Rockstar. My dad was your biggest fan.)"

Arjun's heart constricted. He looked at Aarti, unable to voice the question that he wanted to ask. Arnav had spoken in past tense. The boy was too young to lose his father.

"Arnav's father was a brave soul, AR. Our family is proud of him" Aarti answered, his voice filled with grief. She had known Abhimaan for only seven years, and yet the boy had become a son to her. She had not just lot a son-in-law, she lost a son. She could see her pain reflected in Arjun's eyes. Abhimaan's family shared the same grief.

"I am sorry....."

"Don't be" Arnav smiled, "Mumma says, dad is always around watching over us. He is in our hearts." Arjun tapped his heart gently. "Thank you for your songs. I am sure dad still loves them."

Arjun could not muster a word. The pain that the boy was trying so hard to hide, broke his heart. Arnav did not deserve to lose his father. Arjun cupped his face gently, "You are a brave boy, Arnav" Arjun's voice was filled with emotion, "I am glad I met you today."
