The aristocrats, who seemed like otherworldly people when they were younger, were very fragile people once they crossed the fence.

They trusted people, had thin ears, and were quick to divulge information.

One of the young men at the table looked toward the doorway and said.

"Ah, here they come, here they come. This way."

As soon as the young man walked into the salon, all eyes turned to him.

His attire was out of place.

He looked as if he had just returned from a long journey.

The green cloak that covered his back from his shoulders was long, almost reaching his calves.

The people in the salon weren't offended.

Those who didn't recognize the man in the cloak made faces, but their expressions quickly changed when the person next to them said something.

Rufus turned to look, and was sorely disappointed.

'He has learned magic for over a decade and barely?'

The foreign student's magic was minimal.

But he was very good at being cocky.

He was very arrogant when people around him encouraged him a little.

"Magic is a truly great power. And there is good and evil in magic. The magic I learned can be said to be good."

"Good and evil—how does it really work? Can the power of good truly overcome the power of evil?"

"Well, something like that is said to have happened beyond the Siuta Forest. They claim that an evil horde was driven out and defeated. They call it black magic."

"If black magic is evil, does that mean white magic is good?"

"No, they don't actually call it white magic; it's just magic."

Rufus's eyes grew cold.

'What, a bunch of evil?'

The people of Black Mist, including himself, had been cast out for their perceived weakness—victims of envious, despicable mages.

(The group will be called Black Mist from now on.)

"Could you demonstrate what magic is capable of here?"

The international student bristled at Rufus's challenge.

"I'm no performer. I didn't learn magic to show off at events."

"Please, don't be upset. He probably didn't know. Apologize, Rufus."

"My apologies. I was too eager and made a mistake."

Rufus smirked inwardly.

'I guess you're not good enough to show it.'

With magic like that, he wouldn't manage it well.

At best, he had only memorized the theory.

Why was the Master so cautious around people like that?

Perhaps Diete was the only mage beyond the forest who truly possessed skill.

'... This might be a chance to strengthen Black Mist's position.'

Rufus narrowed his eyes, deep in thought.

If the foreign students were of such low caliber, the kingdom's leaders would be disappointed.

What if Black Mist could enhance their skills quickly?
