Christian walked into the precinct with a red nose. He wiped the running snot before sighing in resignation.

He'd been out sick for a few months and was not eager to be back at his workplace. He'd rather be at home, cuddled with Evelyn or just sleeping. He missed her already.

He made it to his desk, where his partner Paul sat at the adjacent desk. He reached his hand forward for Christian to shake it but Christian shook his head.

"I'm still sick bruh." He huffed. sitting down and glancing at the amount of paperwork at his desk. He sucked his teeth before opening the first folder file.

Paul snickered. "You been sick since March."

"It's the fuckin pollen. I'm allergic."

"There ain't no pollen around." Paul said and Christian sucked his teeth.

"Well dats the only reason I'm sick." Christian responded hotly.

Paul threw his hands in the air, surrendering. "You heard bout the drug bust?"

Christian's heart raced. He hadn't heard anything about a drug bust. The heart of his cartel, the Jalisco cartel was in Jalisco, but Christian had shipments come to Georgia too. It was spread across North America.

"What drug bust?" Christian asked, disguising his worry for curiousity. Even if the bust had not happened to shipments under Christian's control, he'd still have to know about it as a person in control of drug shipments.

"Damn you off the grid forreal forreal. Bout two weeks ago, Pete was on a cruise—

"Cruise goin where again?"

"Mexico."

Christian kept his face composed but his heart was racing in his chest. "And then?"

"Saw a shipment of Tyson meat products, but they had shut down mad factories a while back. So he went in there like Will Smith in Bad Boys—

"No the fuck he ain't." Christian cut through, rolling his eyes as he tossed aside another completed file. His worry was gone now, he didn't use the Tyson trucks as a disguise for his drug shipments.

"Yea he ain't." Paul laughed heartily. "But he takin in the attention great."

"Of course he do."
