"no, hold on, I can do it" Brooke insists when Tim offers her his arm so she can stand up.
"okay" Tim says, hiding an amused smirk as he watches his lovely girlfriend try to get out of bed by herself.
The baby bump makes getting up very hard but Brooke managed to use momentum to sit up however, standing up is a whole new beast that Tim offered to help her with but her stubbornness has seemed to get stronger even with two babies in her belly.
"don't look at me like that" Brooke says when she sees Tim's poorly hidden entertained smile.
"I won't, I won't, just... we do have to get to work soon" Tim defends himself.
"Grey will understand if we're late" Brooke replies, grunting, as she futilely tries to stand up on her own.
"Grey will" Tim nods. "but the criminals of LA probably won't"
"they can wait for me to get out of bed" Brooke answers.
"can they though?" Tim raises an eyebrow, but he immediately backs off when Brooke glares at him.
"okay, what can I do to make this easier?" Tim asks, holding out his hand again.
"no, don't help me" Brooke pouts.
"okay... do you want me to make you something for breakfast?" Tim inquires.
Brooke perks up at the idea of food.
"yeah?" Tim chuckles. "what do you want?"
"a big bowl of pineapples and peanut butter" Brooke replies. "oh and pickles"
"so we're officially done with every other fruit?" Tim laughs.
"pineapples are the best" Brooke insists.
"maybe... just not with peanut butter and pickles" Tim replies.
"it's what your stupid babies want" Brooke reminds him.
"which is why I'm gonna go make it right now" Tim says, kissing her forehead.
He hesitates to leave, watching as Brooke continues to struggle.
"yeah, okay" Tim mutters to himself and leaves the room while Brooke scrunches her face up and prepares for another attempt.
[Time Skip]
"7-Adam-18, silent alarm, 801 North Heatherly. Respond Code 2-High." Dispatch says over the radio.
Brooke pulls the car up to the house, looking around as she and Nolan get out and walk over to the front door.
"We got an I.D. on the homeowner?" Nolan asks.
"It's listed to a holding company" Brooke replies, moving to knock on it but it opens when she touches it.
"Police!" Nolan calls as he and Brooke cautiously enter the house.
Brooke is looking around when Nolan spots something out of a window overlooking into the backyard.
"Dockery?" Nolan calls.
Brooke follows Nolan out into the backyard where a man is hanging from a parachute that is stuck in a tree.
"Hey! Hi. Oh, thank God. I've been stuck up here for almost an hour." The man, Ellis Wince, says.
"Control, send LAFD to our location. We got a parachuter in a tree." Brooke says over the radio.
"I have so many questions, starting with "How?" and ending with "Why?"" Nolan asks.
"I missed the landing zone." Ellis replies.
