Abhi sat by the windowsill, wondering how life could not treat him fair. He wanted to cry and curse, but then he had learned that neither did any good. He must have something really bad to deserve a fate like his. For six months now he did not have to look behind his back, he did not have to watch his every step, he did not have to sleep with a knife under his pillow, all that would change with the man. Lucifer! The devil, the man who owned him.
His eyes burned with the tears that refused to shed. Lucifer did not like tears. He hated them with a vengeance. He was punished severely for shedding them once, now it became a habit. He wished his bhaiyu was there to hold him. The moment he had seen the man he went looking for Arjun.
His Bhaiyu needed to know what was happening. There could be no adoption. He could not even stay with them any longer. Lucifer would track him down, he always did. Although he had destroyed the one thing that could get him caught, but he was not sure that the man did not have other tricks up his sleeps. For six months he had deluded himself that he was safe. Now he knew different. Lucifer never let go of the person he marked, and Abhi was marked for a lifelong servitude. There was no escaping the man.
He knew his bhaiyu would insist on him staying back, but if he did then Lucifer would target his family. That is not what he could tolerate. He needed to convince his bhaiyu to let him go. He could have run, but the thought of running away from the people he loved, from the man he admired, did not sit well with him. He needed to go away but he needed his family more in his life. He was hoping to find a middle ground. But the more he brooded the more scared he got.
He prayed with all his heart that his bhaiyu would come back before his fear got to him. He could go to Ash or Roohi, but somewhere he trusted his bhaiyu more. The only other person he could reach out was busy with his commitments. He felt trapped.
