|Chapter 72| The Final Hours

Chaos. That's the only way I could describe what's going on now. Everyone was woken up suddenly by Steve crying out in a panic. The fire was now in the fields outside of town. Without a moment to think I rushed outside to where the flames were beginning to burn. They were close to the village. I and other Blue Steves began to use our abilities to try to snuff out the flames.

No matter how much water we used, the flames would evaporate it.

Looking at the Blue Steves who were already using up most of their energy, I told them to to go back to the village. In a single burst of energy, I stomped on the ground causing a large amount of soil and dirt to burst up from the ground it reached higher than the flames causing an obstacle in their path. I rush a wave of water overtop to keep the soil moist and hard to get through. I repeated this two more times before going back to the others.

I walked past many Steves who were grabbing supplies and getting ready for the worst. Through the crowd of Steve's, I struggled to find where my father and brother were. My eyes scanned past heads and colors. Soon I found them near the Overseer's house. I had to push through a few Steve's to get to them.

"The fire isn't being contained by the water, so I added some barriers," I explained to them as I got into close earshot. Lucas, Origin, Alex, Rainhow, Light, Blue, and Ghost were here, I was surprised to see Ghost.

"Ghost! Did you find Time? Was he there?! Was he safe?!" I held my breath.

"No... He left a day earlier with him. I came to warn you about something else though. They are coming here. Now." Ghost gathers everyone together.

"Thank you for the help Elemental, but Ghost says that Nightmare and the others are coming here. We need to fight." Light tells me. My heart ached a bit knowing my brother's fate was still unknown. At least I know he was seen. He is alive.

Right now all of our fates are on the line.

"Thank you for trying Ghost." I thanked him before my father spoke up.

"We all remember the plan right?" He asks all of us. I nodded in agreement. "I already made the machines in my realm with Illusion. They are well separated too." Galaxy confirms to all of us.

"Inside they will be in a dream-like state. I made sure of it." Illusion adds to the confirmation.

"I'll help keep Lucas safe, but we will both be fighting together." Origin stays close to Lucas.

"I'll run and hide if needed... I don't want to, but it keeps this world safe then- it's all we can do for now." Lucas sighs a bit.

"We won't have to worry about it! I'm sure we got this- somehow- also where is Hypno?" Blue looks around.

"Talking to Overseer to help calm everyone down- he has a strong voice," Rainbow tells us. His voice is a bit more quiet now. I wish we could give him more time to process everything. He needs it.

"Everyone calm down and remember what we talked about! Your leader is here now to speak so shut up and listen!" We all heard Hypno's manic voice. Those who weren't used to it like me and Rainbow were, flinched. Even that was a bit loud for him.

"He certainly had a strong voice," Ghost takes note of. "Also, if we do defeat all the villains that will lure Demon Steve in, he won't come unless he needs to." Ghost tells all of us.

"So we need to defeat all these old villains, again. To lure Demon Steve and defeat him- then what? How are we going to stop the fire?" Alex questions.

"I can do it, I know the most information about it thanks to the Guardian. If we can defeat Demon Steve we can take the rest of the light spirit's powers back. I can revert it."
