"wow bro, this baby looks nothing like you." jake whispered as he observed the baby peacefully sleeping in her crib, a paper tag hanging from the side with her name written on it as sunghoon's friends were circled around her admiring her cuteness. sunghoon smiled at jake's words as he glanced at his wife peacefully sleeping on her hospital bed near them, lights dim not to bother her and voices not louder than a whisper. "yeah, she got all her looks from hari."

yet, the happiness of the moment was interrupted by the lights suddenly being turned on and the sound of a door being slammed open, their head snapping towards it and the raven's face almost went pale once he noticed who was standing at the doorframe with her high heels and slightly circular sunglasses. "oh my god, why is it so dark in here?" hari's mother slid her sunglasses off and threw them inside the bag hanging from her folded arm, walking into the room with a clicking sound following her steps as she stood in front of hari's bed observing her waking up and squinting her eyes at the bright lights.

"mom..? what are you doing here..?" her voice was raspy as she just woke up from her sleep, glancing at sunghoon's friends quietly leaving the room before sighing heavily at the presence of the person she wished to see the least right now. mrs.cha scoffed audibly at her questioning, approaching her granddaughter and faking a warm smile at her. "when did you mind to tell me you gave birth? i had to discover this from the media—"

"try to touch her and i'm calling security on you." the girl warned once she noticed her hand reaching out to pick her up, a stern gaze fixated on her mother who placed a hand over her chest where the heart is located as a sign that she was hurt by her daughter's words but she couldn't care less about her feelings.

"i'm her grandmother, you can't just stop me from holding my niece." hari chuckled at the ridiculous words her ears just registered. was she seriously playing dumb right now? did she suddenly forget how she clearly told her she no longer considered hari her daughter?

"did you forget that five years ago you disowned me? you're no longer my mother, so technically you're not associated with her in any way."

the woman in her mid fifties was left speechless as her slightly wrinkled lips were parted as if to say something, but nothing apart from air could slip past them. she took a deep breath before painting on a fake smile like usual, adjusting the cardigan wrapped around her body before glancing at the name tag on the side of the trasparent crib and turning towards sunghoon. "i'm assuming you accepted the baby even if it's not your own blood, is that right?"

"actually, we took a dna test and miwon is my daughter. i don't know what you were trying to achieve with those photos but you failed." the brown haired woman stormed out of the hospital room fumbling in anger, her steps followed by a clicking sound of heels on the ground as she slammed the door behind her figure waking up the newborn who began to cry loudly.

"i'll take her, you should go back to sleep." hoon told her as he crawled the baby into his secure embrace whilst sitting onto the chair beside her hospital bed, failing to notice hari's sharp gaze analyzing his visibly tired face and body since he hasn't closed his eyes ever since he got there nor has he touched a crumble of food ever since he arrived at the hospital.

"i think you're the one that should sleep hoon." he raised his head with confusion twisting his features even if it was obvious what she was talking about, his eyes red and puffy with dark circles clearly visible under them while his lips were discolored and his face pale. it was clear he wasn't feeling well, but he was too stubborn to just take a break.

after all, he couldn't worry her after she just gave birth to their child and was unconscious for several hours.

"i'm fine baby, you should rest, i'll look after iseul." the girl took the newborn from his arms and pointed at the comfortable-looking armchair a few meters away from them, signaling him to go sit there and take a nap which had him sigh heavily in defeat before standing up and doing like requested.

hoon finally rested his tired back on the comfortable chair before his droopy eyes traveled to his wife, a smile immediately curving his lips at the scene of her holding miwon so delicately as if she could break at any moment before slowly drifting to sleep.
