"Try not to get yourself killed." Devika said as she showed Chandni the room and went away.

The mere thought that she might be killed today was enough to bring back her nervous and scared self which she tried so hard to forget.

The nervousness spread through her body, making her hands shake, which resulted in her being unable to open the bedroom door.

As much as she tried to twist the doorknob, her hands slipped and she couldn't open the door.

Devyansh who had his room next to Reyansh's room, came out upon hearing some voice.
He looked to find the girl who got married to his brother through deceit.

He was about to go back inside, but stopped himself as he saw that she was actually struggling to open the door.

"What happened? You got married with deceit but can't even open a mere door?" He mocked.

Chandni looked at him as she said, "S...Sorry. I'm trying, but I'm not able to."

Once again she tried, but failed like before.
"Wait a second." He said and twisted the knob to open the door.

Before she could even thank him, he was gone.
As Chandni entered in the room, she was met with luxury. In literal sense.

Just looking at the room she understood that there is no way she can even try making this marriage work.

She is here just for survival.
She reminded herself as she looked around the room.

She didn't even dare to touch anything because she didn't want to give him any reason to get angry over her.

She just silently stood next to the bed for nearly an hour when the bedroom door opened and Reyansh came in.

He looked tired and a little drunk, but he managed himself.
He immediately went and lied down on the bed.

Chandni looked at him, nervous about whether she should ask him if she can sleep here or just stand the whole night.

Taking all the confidence she had in herself, she called out, "Sir?"

Reyansh opened his eyes and the sudden disturbance and turned to her side.
His vision was blurry, and he was unable to speak anything.

"Can I please sleep here on the floor? I promise I won't disturb you or anything in the room. You won't even feel like I'm here." She said in one breath.

Reyansh, thinking of it as a dream just gave a nod, before falling asleep.

Chandni immediately sat down and gave her legs the much needed relief.
Taking her bag as a pillow, she lied down on the floor. She didn't feel cold considering the heaviness of the lehenga.

Soon even she fell asleep being gravely tired of all the happenings.

.

Even though she was so tired, she still woke up at exactly 5 a.m.
Looking around she found a door which she guessed would lead to the washroom.

She knew that the people here weren't fond of her but surely they would not say anything to her for using the washroom. She thought and got up taking her essentials from the bag.

She quickly went inside and got ready for the day.
She neatly folded the Lehenga and kept all her jewellery on it.

She then came out of the room, carrying the Lehenga in her hand. She looked around to see that there was not a single person present.

She started walking in the living room when she reached the home temple. She stood there praying until she heard a voice,

"You're awake so early?"

She turned to see it was Rati who asked her this.
"Yes ma'am." Chandni replied and handed her the Lehenga and the jewellery.

"What is this?" Rati asked, eyeing everything.

"The wedding Lehenga and the jewellery. It was funded by you, right?" She asked, timidly.

"Yeah!" She said, taking everything from her, "Anyway, this nuptial chain was also funded by us, didn't you feel the need to return that?" She asked.

"No." Chandni replied, shocking her.

"What do you mean?" Rati asked, being clearly offended.

"No... I mean, this is not the nuptial chain you funded. My chachi replaced this with the original when you know she replaced me as the bride." Chandni replied, making Rati sigh in frustration.

"So what are you planning to do? Go back to your home or go to any of your lover?" She asked, making Chandni feel hurt but she didn't show it on her face, as usual.

"Can I stay here?" Chandni asked, nervously.

"And as what are you planning to stay here?" Rati asked, raising her eyebrow.

"Anything. You can keep me as your maid too. I can cool, I can clean and I promise you'll not get a single chance to complain." Chandni said.

"Let's see." Was all Rati replied before she walked to the kitchen followed by Chandni.

"So what shall I do?" Chandni asked, because it was weird for even her to satya without work for so long.

"Today was supposed to be my daughter in laws pehli rasoi, so I had asked the chef to take a leave, but now you have to prepare the breakfast." Rati said and walked out, leaving a very confused Chandni behind.

Lucky for her there was a maid who helped her with all the ingredients and what to cook.
Within an hour or so, she was finally able to curate a breakfast that was hopefully according to their taste.

All of them sat at the dining table after which breakfast was served. Soon, even Reyansh came down carrying a suitcase with him.

As he sat down for the breakfast, something clicked in his mind and he asked, "Mom, the chef was on a holiday today, so did you cook or ordered online?"

"Why would she order online? It's homemade food, made by Chandni." His grandma replied.

"Who's Chandni?" He asked with confusion making his grandma slap her forehead in disappointment.

"Your wife, Chandni." His brother said.

"What? How is it possible?" He asked standing up, "How did she even reach here?"

"She came yesterday when you went out. She was in your room the whole night, don't tell me you didn't even notice her." His sister, Devika said and sudden realisation dawned upon him.

He realised that there was indeed a girl in the bridal outfit yesterday in his room. It wasn't his dream or something.

"I don't care when and how she came here, but mom please make her go back to her home. We both can't stay in a scam that has been named marriage." Reyansh said and left the table.

He was walking towards the door, when his father stopped him.
"Where do you think you are going?" He asked.

"I cancelled the business meeting in London for this wedding. The wedding gave me just loss, now it's time to make some profit." He said and walked off.
