Today is a big day.....no, 'the' big day. Tanishk and I are finally going for my admission to the academy. After all the discussions, the nervous anticipation, and a few sleepless nights of mine because Tanishk was chilled everytime, we got the green light from Maa and Papa. Not only were they completely supportive, but Papa even offered to help me expand my arts once I got started. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for better in-laws. They've treated me like their own daughter from day one, making sure I'm always comfortable and happy.
But right now, I'm standing in front of my husband, who is somehow more focused on a pile of important-looking papers than on me. Seriously, I'm here, tying his tie around his neck, and he's completely lost in whatever work is in his hands. Typical Tanishk.
"Why do I even bother," I muttered under my breath, giving the tie a final tug.
"Here I am, your incredibly attractive wife, doing my wifely duties, and you're staring at those boring papers?" Tanishk glanced up for the briefest of seconds, flashing a distracted smile.
"What was that, love?" I rolled my eyes, more than a little frustrated. How could he not notice? I mean, if this doesn't prove I married a workaholic, nothing will. I took a deep breath and decided to take matters into my own hands.
Enough is enough.
Abandoning the tie, I tiptoed up, wrapped my arms around his neck, and without warning, captured his lips in a firm, possessive kiss. My tongue traced his lower lip before plunging in, demanding his full attention. If he wasn't going to focus on me willingly, I'd just have to make him.
For a moment, I thought I had succeeded. His breath hitched slightly, and I felt his body tense. But when I opened my eyes, still kissing him, I found him staring at me with one eyebrow raised, the other hand still holding those cursed papers. The look on his face was a mix of amusement and intrigue, as if he was saying,
"Really, Jiya?" I couldn't help but smile into the kiss. God, he was impossible. But before I could even think about pulling away, he decided to remind me just how much he enjoyed being impossible. His free hand slid down to grab my butt, pulling me closer, while the other one...still clutching that damn paper...remained annoyingly poised.
"You're not getting away that easily," he murmured against my lips, his voice dripping with mischief. I tried to pull back, my plan to distract him clearly backfiring, but he wasn't having any of it. His hand tightened on my waist, and he gave me a playful pinch, just enough to make me wince in a way that sent shivers down my spine.
"Tanishk!" I gasped, half-laughing, half-mortified.
"You're impossible!"
"I'm impossible?" he shot back, finally setting the papers down but keeping me locked in his embrace.
