When Rachel Bernard was seven she was involved in a life-changing accident. She lost both of her parents in the span of one hour. They were driving to Florida to visit Rachel's Grandparents. The semi in the lane over popped a tire and rammed into them, leaving them spiraling out of control. Rachel's father, died instantly. Rachel's mother on the other hand was rushed to the hospital, where she later died later from internal bleeding in her chest and brain. And yet somehow Rachel made it out with a cracked rib and a broken leg. After the hospital cleared Rachel she was immediately sent to a group home.
After a year had passed she had already been in two orphanages, a group home, and one foster home.
By the time she was fourteen she had been in seven different foster homes, four orphanages, and when Rachel was eight a young couple adopted her but she was sent back because they found out they were expecting.
All of the moving around stopped when Lana Parrilla walked into Rachel's life.
