[To What Ends will you go for love?]
The first light of spring is a novel telling the story of Ares. A wanderer who travels the world to explore and discover fun new things. He is a writer who wrote many stories about his adventures and yet nobody knows what he actually looks like.
Among one of his travels, he crossed paths with a dying man in the caverns of Liyue, one which he saved and cared to.
It turns out that the man he saved was Dolion, a tyrant soldier of Sumeru. The story tells of how Dolion falls obsessively head over heels for Ares. They overcome many ups and downs and even took away Sumeru from the hands of the cold hearted grand-sage Alhaitham with the help of the vizier Azar and ruled Sumeru in peace for years.
Alhaitham looked at the unfamiliar ceiling and sigh. He woke up a month ago in this new world. Last he remembered, he was shot by a dying man he shot first.
When he first awoken onto this world, he was confused and lost but was later able to cope when the original's owner's memories came rushing to him like a tide.
Like himself, this man is called Alhaitham. A grand sage in a country called Sumeru. Born unfeeling so it's normal to him to feel indifference and is usually busy with paper works to actually care about life.
But not now.
Alhaitham knows where this is, and who exactly is he.
The grand sage Alhaitham from that wretched first light of spring that he heard from his friend Lumine.
The story with more injustice than what he could explain.
Picture this. Dolion is an obsessed tyrant who does abuse of authority to make Ares comply with his wants. Albeit he is a soldier, he never actually experienced real war like the cold ruined world of the post-apocalyptic world Alhaitham has lived through. He never experienced real cruelty to make him insane.
In short, he is insane from birth.
So insane that he didn't realize that Azar was only manipulating him to get the Grand Sage seat. Azar is a good for nothing useless goon that the previous Alhaitham ignore because of his own stupidity.
He's not surprised, he'd do the same.
But not anymore. Now knowing that Alhaitham will be killed by such lousy idiots. Alhaitham decided that strike first before they can even think of anything funny. Alhaitham discovered a few days of staying here that the previous Alhaitham actually finished collecting all evidence of Azar's vices as well as Dolion's acts of tyranny that endangered many lives of citizens of Sumeru.
He was indeed deserving of being a grand sage. Such capable man.
What made him resign to fate of dying in the novel?
He was such a powerful person that even the archon of Sumeru is on his side, and yet he let death consume him.
Alhaitham is curious.
And there's no stopping a curious man.
"Haiyi?" A voice he hasn't heard before was heard. But it was calling his nickname, a nickname only he knows. A nickname that even the him in the post-apocalyptic world only knows. Gently he turned around and was stunned speechless by what greeted him.
Gorgeous blonde locks tied in a braid, inlaid with red ruby pins, as red as the hues that gleamed on the man's eyes fanned by long, thick curved lashes. Lips plump and thin-
Archons he looked like a god!
Alhaitham has to stop himself from kneeling as his mind tried to remember who this person is.
