Beep.. beeb..beeb.. As the alarm went off, signifying that it was time to start my day, I leaned over to switch off the clock, slowly blinking my eyes open noting the nice and early time of 6 a.m. The lovely morning light shines through the half-open blinds. Hearing the hustle and bustle of morning commuters heading to work. I didn't want to wake up just yet, so I snuggled up to my new little addition, Cooper, an 8-week-old cavapoo. Finally, after 15 minutes, I decided it was time to get up for the day. As I stretched, I noticed that, like she does every morning, my mamma sent her a good morning text; with all of her children split around, she values our daily texts.
Mamma💜
Good morning my darling girl, hope you slept well, your brothers are sleeping still but we are all very excited to see you.
These boys recking my head for the last week, can't wait to finally have my girl to save me.
Sunshine💛
Good morning mamma can't wait to see you

Before the craziness of the start of the season
Mamma💜

Sunshine💛
I can't wait to see what you have planned 💗
After talking with Momma for a little while longer Coop started whining a sign of him wanting to go out, so I decided to take him to Central Park.
After returning after an hour-long walk, I showered, ate breakfast, and fed Coop, and decided it was time to gather my final belongings because Coop and I would be driving to my brother's lake house for a few weeks before the hockey season began, and we would all be separated again. I believed some of my brother's buddies were also there at the lakehouse. My parents and the boys have been there for nearly a week as I waited for Coops' paperwork so he could fly with me.
As I finished, my front door opened, and Coop went to greet the visitor, which I recognized as my best friend and teammate Braden.
Braden and I were both drafted in 2020 and quickly became great friends; as rookies together, we could relate to each other; he always has my back, and I always have his.Braden and I were roommates when we first moved to New York, but then he met his wonderful girlfriend and they moved into the apartment across the hall.
"Nova!" Braden shouted.
"In my room," I called back, as I heard his footsteps approaching. I turned around as he walked in, coop practically asleep in his arms.
Coop rapidly became the team's puppy, and everyone grew obsessed with him.
"Well, good morning! You're almost ready to go; we should leave soon if we want to beat traffic."
"Morning B yes perfect timing all good to go, Are you sure you still good to drive us?."
"ofc I am, now who am I gonna bother while you're gone".
"knowing you. you will still find a way to bother me" I laughed out.
As we drove to the airport, jamming out to Zach Bryan, B says I corrupted him but I say I just bettered his music taste.
After saying goodbye and thank you to B, I made it through security and boarding without a hitch, ready for a simple 3-hour flight to spend a couple of weeks having fun with no worries.
