"Isagi, I can walk on my own."

Your arm was draped around the ravenette's shoulder, one of his hands steadying your own while the other supported your waist as a brace. The two of you were making your way back to the dormitory, with Isagi insisting he'd seen a medical kit there earlier.

You felt guilty, though you couldn't quite justify why. Your team had won, but Kuon was a traitor. He was no better than your brother's ex. You should have seen it sooner.

Maybe that's why the guilt was eating at you. The nagging feeling that you'd known something was wrong but hadn't spoken up until it was too late.

It was stupid to dwell on it now. It's not like your team listened to you anyway. But even so, you couldn't shake the thought that you should've done something earlier.

This is stupid. You're stupid. Your period is stupid. Your busted finger is stupid. This whole place is stupid.

"I can't let someone injured walk alone, especially if they're my friend. I'd feel bad leaving anyone like this—and in your state," Isagi said, giving your waist a reassuring squeeze.

Oh. So he thought it was your ankle and... lactose intolerance. As long as he didn't think you were hosting Aunt Flo for the week, you could handle the embarrassment of being "lactose intolerant."

You gave him a strained smile. "You're a real one, Isagi."

Finding the med kit turned out to be harder than expected. It had been tossed into a corner somewhere after Igarashi used it to inspect his toe a few days ago. Too bad he hadn't bothered to put it back in the designated spot.

While Isagi rummaged around, he insisted you sit and wait. You got comfortable, though your thoughts kept spiraling.

Isagi had been fuming with anger just minutes ago, barely containing it. Yet here he was, helping you instead of dwelling on his frustration. You felt like you were wasting his time. Wasting your own time.

What had you been thinking, coming here to beat Rin—Itoshi? Like you even had a chance, all while hiding your true identity. And if your team lost one more time... You didn't want to think about that.

The weight of it all was crushing. You wanted to drown your thoughts in a shower, let the water overflow and suffocate the noise.

"Uh, [l/n]?" Isagi's voice jolted you from your spiraling thoughts. He was searching beneath a pile of blankets, his posture more relaxed now that the walk had given him time to simmer down. "I wanted to apologize for earlier... not listening to you, I mean."

You opened your mouth to respond, but before you could, he gasped and held up a tin box triumphantly. "I found it!" He waved the box with a grin so bright it could make flowers bloom.
