There aren't enough Surge x male reader stories and I need some. So I took matters into my own hands!
This takes place shortly after Surge's big battle with Sonic at Eggman's fortress. Surge in her attempt to run away stumbles across something shock...
Inside of the Egg fortress, Surge is making her way through the vents.
Surge: (I gotta find a way out of this crazy place! Maybe old Egghead has got some toys that I can use- Whoa!
Surge crashes out of the vent and lands face first onto the floor. She groans looking up, she looks around to see a secret lab of some kind. She looks in fear at several containers having mild PTSD from her time in one along with Kit. Her memory was fuzzy with Starline and his mind erasure but still. . . eerie.

Surge: Man, the two docs think a lot more alike than they both think.
Surge then spots some devices hanging on the wall. She smirks and begins rumaging through them.
Surge: Great. . . all this stuff is a bunch of dumb guns, I need something more hands-
Surge then notices a gemstone on a pedestal, there is a small crack in the side of it indicating it has seen some battle.

Surge: Huh, weird rock. *tosses Ruby in her hand* Wonder what old egghead is doing with a paper weight?
As Surge looks around she notices something. Inside one of the pods is Mobian Jackal around her age suspended inside of liquid.
Surge: (That guy. . . he's imprisoned like. . .)
Surge looks at the jackal and her vision blurs to see herself and Kit in those pods as well. In anger she runs and punches a hole in the pod causing an alarm to beep before Surge blasts the panel electrocuting it. Surge looks over to the Jackal who coughs up water and looks to his savior.
???: Who are you?
Surge looks towards the exit before rolling her eyes and showing her hand.
Surge: Surge the Tenrec, and you are flea-bag?
The Jackal chuckles at the joke and takes it before pulling her close, getting Surge irritated and flustered.
