Dazai hesitantly knocked on the door of the room Chuuya was currently in. He was holding a smug Orpheus in his arms. His fox had vanished a few minutes ago, only to return with a frame in his mouth. Ademir was at his side. He had officially met his dad's bear after he woke up and was told his father's lion was with Chuuya and Olethros.
"Come in, Osamu." Chuuya spoke calmly, belying the intent way he was staring at the door.
Dazai carefully opened the door and let Ademir shove him inside as he smiled hesitantly at his boyfriend. "Hi, Chuuya."
Chuuya laughed softly as Ademir lumbered over to him and sniffed, checking in on him physically now that he wasn't being used as a pillow. "Hi, Osamu. Come on in, don't just loiter at the door."
Hiromasa stood up on the bed and stretched before jumping down, trotting over to Dazai and nudging at his hand. // The cub smells very nervous.//
Chuuya snorted. "He's probably nervous in part because a fully grown male lion has his face at his hand. Give him some space, Hiromasa."
Hiromasa huffed and plopped down next to Dazai. // No. Ademir got to be with him earlier, it's my turn.//
Chuuya rolled his eyes. "Stubborn old cat. Osamu, Hiromasa is your father's lion companion." He explained, letting Ademir nudge him over and plop down on top of him.
Dazai bit his lip as he smiled at the sight of Ademir lying on top of Chuuya.
Chuuya grunted as Olethros shrieked in anger at Ademir. "They're all giant oafs." He informed his consort.
Dazai nodded slowly. "Orpheus has something for you. He dodged both of my parents when they tried to get a look at it."
Chuuya perked up and nudged Ademir until he moved over. "The picture of you and Orpheus from when you were little?"
Dazai laughed. "Probably, he was quite pleased when he reappeared with the frame in his mouth." He bent down and set Orpheus down, allowing his fox to trot over and present Chuuya the picture.
Chuuya grinned as he took the picture and stared at a four year old Dazai in a pale green dress with a baby Orpheus curled up in his lap. From the chapter book sitting next to Dazai in the picture, it was obvious his consort often sat out there and read. "You look adorable, Osamu."
Dazai hummed as he sat down against Hiromasa. "Yeah? My foster parents liked taking pictures of me. I didn't understand why, but it made them happy so I was usually willing to pose."
Chuuya glanced up and hid a frown. "Why are you still all the way over there?" Dazai had moved further into the room, but he wasn't within touching distance and Chuuya didn't like that. Didn't Dazai want to be close to him?
Dazai looked up at Chuuya with big chocolate eyes full of regret. "I wasn't sure if you wanted me very close right now. You're willing to see me, I'm not going to take that for granted Chuuya. I know I hurt you, more than I will probably ever realize. I'm so very sorry for that. I've broken my promise twice now. I promised myself I would never push you. I don't care if I was spiraling, I should have never pushed you. So, I'm trying to respect your boundaries right now until you tell me what you're comfortable with going forward."
Chuuya held his arms out to Dazai. "I'm not setting physical boundaries, sweetheart. I can't stand to be away from you, and I hate having you out of my reach more than anything. We'll talk about this, obviously, but only once you come over here."
Dazai hesitated only for a moment before getting up and quickly making his way over to Chuuya. "I don't like you not being in my reach either."
Chuuya smiled as he wrapped his arms around Dazai and pulled his consort close. "I hate it so much that I was sitting by your side the entire time while you were sleeping. I stayed there and played with your hair while talking with your parents. I was worried, so I wanted to check in on you. Mori's updates could only do so much."
